MRH: To both of my RP pals, Starry and Eruantale. Here’s their couple, Shizuka/Mariku!

One-shot, unless they want a sequel.

Disclaimer: I don’t own Yugioh, Starry, Eruantale, or Adele. Adele is the property of Starry only. Sorry if anybody’s OOC.

The ages are all going to be about nineteen.

~*The Day Mariku Quit Being a Bachelor*~

Mariku and Shizuka had been dating for sixth straight months, and finally Mariku got up the guts to ask her ‘the question’.

“Shizuka, angel of my life, will you marry me?” he asked, holding out a gorgeous diamond ring. Shizuka gasped.

“Of course!” she squealed happily. She kissed him, and he slipped the engagement ring onto her finger.

The next day, she called up her friends Starry and Eruantale to help her plan the wedding.

“It’s gonna be BIG! I’m talking we’re gonna go all out on this!” Starry exclaimed excitedly.

“Where will we get the money though? It’s gonna cost a bundle for all this!” Shizuka said. Starry grinned.

“I’ve got that covered. Adele went to ask to ‘borrow’ some money from Kaiba.”

Meanwhile…

“Kaiba, can I borrow some money for Shizuka’s wedding?” Adele asked.

“No.” Kaiba replied.

“I said, ‘GIVE ME THE MONEY’!” Adele growled, holding him up by the collar. Kaiba nodded and handed her a briefcase. Inside was about two thousand dollars. Adele set him down and left.

Starry took the briefcase from Adele, who was polishing a knife.

“Now, let’s get planning!” Eruantale said, opening a wedding catalog.

When they had it all planned out, it was going to be a humongous wedding! Shizuka’s dress was white, with those long sleeves that go down to the wrist, and then the bottom fabric drapes down and tapers off at the end. It had white lace around the bottom, and a tiara with a long white lacy veil. There was to be a bouquet of red and white roses, baby’s breath, daises, and forget-me-nots. The bridesmaid dresses were purplish-blue, sleeveless, v-necked, and sparkled in the light. Their bouquets were purple irises, forget-me-nots, baby’s breath, and pink carnations. The shoes were all high heels, and were white silky ones for Shizuka and purplish-blue for the bridesmaids. Mariku’s tux was the traditional black, with a pink rose in the pocket. The place they picked for their honeymoon was Hawaii.

When the day finally arrived, Shizuka was nervous. The Matron of Honor was going to be Kujaku Mai, and her bridesmaids were Eruantale, Starry, and Adele. Mariku’s best man was Bakura (the yami,) and his guys (what’re they called again?) were Ryou, Seito (Yes, done purposely ~.^,) and Yami. The flower girl was a little girl named Mana, and the ring bearer was a little boy named Mahaado (didn’t want to use Mokuba for some reason…). Shizuka was feeling mixed emotions about it all.

“Don’t worry hun, it’ll all be okay.” Mai said. They heard the music start, and the flower girl and ring bearer went on out, Mana was spreading the flowers around until they reached their spots and stopped. Then, out came the Matron of Honor and the best man (I picked Mai for MoH because I thought of her first,) followed by Adele and Seito, Starry and Ryou, and then Yami and Eruantale. Finally, out came Shizuka, being led by her brother, Jono, since their dad was an alcoholic, and unsuited for the job. Jono stopped up there with her. Mariku was already up there.

“Who gives this woman to be wed to this man?” the preacher, Rei, asked.

“Her mother and I, her brother.” Replied Jono. He pulled back the veil and she walked up there next to Mariku. Jono sat down by their mom, who had tears in her eyes.

“God has made marriage a holy covenant, as it says, ‘a man must leave his father and mother and join with his wife, and they become one flesh’. (I can’t remember the real verse, and am too lazy to look it up, but it’s something like that.) Marriage is something approved by God. When you marry, you give up your rights as an individual, and join together to become one. Shizuka, do you believe this?” Rei asked her.

“I do.” Shizuka said, nodding.

(I’m just going to have her say the vow, but usually the preacher has them repeat after him.)

“I, Katsuya Shizuka, take Mariku Ishtaru, to have and to hold, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us both part.”

“You give up your rights as an individual, and join together as one flesh. Mariku, do you believe this?” Rei asked.

“I do.”

(Same here. He’s just going to say the vow. But I’m letting them have special vows as they exchange the rings.)

“I, Mariku Ishtaru, take Katsuya Shizuka, to have and to hold, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us both part.”

“Take the rings and say your special vows.” Rei said. Mariku took the ring from his best man and held it.

“Shizuka, angel of my heart, soul, and life, when I met you, my soul was set free from hatred. You taught me to love, and to be patient, and for that, I can never repay you. I couldn’t find a word to describe my love for you, but one comes a bit close: agape. Endless love. So, as proof of my undying devotion to you, I give you this ring, whose circular shape represents an endless love.” Mariku said, placing the ring on her finger. Shizuka took the ring from the Matron of Honor and held onto it.

“Mariku, fallen angel of mine, I love you with all of my heart, soul, and mind, and will never leave you. You taught me that not everything in life is happy, and I am grateful for the words of advice, and times you caught me when I fell. As proof of my undying love, I give you this ring. I will always love you.” Shizuka said, placing the ring on his finger. Rei, the preacher, looked at the crowd of people, and smiled widely.

“Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you Mr. And Mrs. Mariku Ishtaru!” he said. Everyone was clapping. Jono was comforting his mom, who was so happy she was crying. The recessional started, and the song was ‘I Love You’ by Martina McBride. Mariku and Shizuka left, and after them, the crowd left, heading to the reception.

At the reception, Mana caught the bouquet, and Mahaado caught the garter. Even Rei Taisuka, the preacher, had been invited, as well as his wife, Ayame. When it was time for Mariku and Shizuka to leave for their honeymoon, Ayame took a picture of them in the limo, and them leaving.

MRH: Like I said, if Starry and Eruantale want a sequel, I’ll make it. And I don’t know a lot about planning weddings, so I made it up. Rei and Ayame Taisuka are MY characters. No taking them without permission!
