LIVERPOOL AROUND THE WORLD


The most famous Liverpool is, of course, the one in England. However, England is not the only country to have a city (or even a small town) called Liverpool. Emigrants to the far stretches of the British Empire often left the British Isles from Liverpool. When these migrants settled in new lands, they had to give names to the towns. Often, towns were named after places back home. Therefore, there are numerous places around the world which are called Liverpool, named after the original city in England.
