The best way to start learning about Liverpool and its many places of interest is
with a general directory. Here are a few directories, some of which have their
own search engines for finding numerous Liverpool sites on a variety of topics.
The specifically titled web links I have for different subjects of interest usually
have links connecting through the directory sites. I intend, over time, to find
the best sites available for each link as well as personal favourites!
Merseyworld: The best place to go for information on all things related to Merseyside.
Merseyworld News: Takes you straight to the news page within MerseyWorld's site.
Mersinet: A Merseyside connected site, but with a focus on the broader world rather than the specifics of Merseyside.
Mersinet: The Merseyside specific section of Mersinet's site, emphasizing the Mersey region in its search results.
The Knowhere Guide to Merseyside: Type in "Merseyside" on this youth oriented site and find information on many places within the region.
Liverpool: The main page states "Let us take you on a guided tour of our city of architecture, culture, music and sport." A nice site, but could do with a redesign of its pages.
This Is Wirral: Everything Merseyworld is, but only for the Wirral. A comprehensive site that covers many aspects of events across the river.
Wirral Wide Web: Another great Wirral only site, with links about local communities, business, education, music, sport and other subjects.
Liverpool Weather: If you want to know the weather forecast for the region, then here's the place to go.
Merseyworld Scousepage: For Scousers around the world, and those still in Liverpool, this is a good way of keeping in touch and making new friends.
Liverpool Ex-Pats: A good source for contacting Scousers across the world.
The Crosby Channel: "Contains a wealth of information and features about the Crosby Region" and there are fun activities.
Merseyside Today: A typical regional site with information on various subjects.
