In the corner of the Belfry
among the cobwebs and dust
Sits a lonely, ageing churchmouse
nibbling on an old stale crust

No-one ever talks to him
He is the Pariah MOuse
ousted from the wheatfields
for being such a louse

Many years he's been a rebel
wild and drunk at night
chasing all the lady mice
for which he had no right

Banished from the wheatfields
unable to control his ways
The bells are his companions
they ring throughout the day

In his dark and lonely Belfry
He's doomed to spend his life
dreaming of a house of cheese
and another mouse's wife

So to all you mice in the wheatfield
remember this all your life
Don't get banished to the belfry
For kissing another mouse's wife
