HELLO!
Where I spent two years of my life at the University of
Western Ontario. Trapped in Tech Services!! ha ha
This is a special section to
showcase my interests in audio and video editing.
Audiology can be anything you want it to be. I am
living proof that there are no limitations to where you
can take your education!!
Me in front of the University of
Western Ontario's first non-linear digital editing suite.
$20,000.00 worth of your tuition money at work!
picture

Me in front of the linear editing
suite #1. The unit behind me includes the effects
board I used to create the special effects video for the
Sigma Nu fraternity fund raiser. If anybody asks
about the video - I zoomed in for my roommate Richard aka
Dick Tan!!

Me using Tech Services new computer
to access my FTP site at home. This is basically how
I finished my Master's thesis so quickly. I was able
to work on it anywhere I had access to a computer and
internet!! Also where I made most of my CD's.
Too bad they banned Napster at the University soon after.
picture

Me in front of the DVD/Laser Disc
router. This router is easy to operate if you can
accurately press the buttons without them sticking.
Anybody who worked in Tech Services knows what I mean.
picture

Me in front of our media library of
pirated movies. Great memories spending late nights
monitoring the library and watching movies.
picture

Me working at the second linear
video editing suite. This thing is so old, it's no
wonder why our film students never make it big in the
movie industry. Just kidding guys.
picture

Me busy at work using the visual
special effects board. Always remember to lay down
the control track!! DOH!
picture

Me again using linear editor
#1. Sometimes the strobe feature on the special
effect board looks better when I take my glasses
off!
picture

Me again in front of our Non-linear
editor. For 2000-2001 Tech services bought a second
non-linear editor that is housed inside Wayne B's
office.
picture

Me doing some video overlay on
linear editor #2. It look like a lot of buttons and
dials. er..... Actually, it is a lot of buttons and
dials!!
picture

Max and Sally, camera shy in the
media library. These were two really great film
students. I wish you two the best of luck!
picture

Me sitting in Wayne B's
office. I could not have worked for a better
person. He's the best!
picture

Wayne B, the director of Technical
Services and Bassam aka Sam, my buddy from electrical
engineering. Here's a picture of them setting up the
silver screen (sort of). Sam, thanks for fixing all
the equipment I broke!
picture

Sam in front of linear editor
#1. He doesn't know how to use it. He just
likes pressing the buttons.
picture

Sam inside the
"Chamber"!!! Actually, it's a double
walled sound booth. Sound booths aren't just used
for Audiology you know! If I close the door on Sam,
can Wayne hear him scream?? hmmmm
picture

This is Farid, a super techy guy
working at Tech Services. If it's broken, he will
fix it.
picture

Here is a team
shot. Sam, holding the camera, Farid cut off on the
left and two film students.
picture

Films students with a camera.
They can go on and on about the difference between video 8
and 8 mm film. Don't encourage them.
