Diffuse sound field – sound field with many reflected waves of random incidence from all directions so that an average sound pressure will be attained that will be nearly uniform through out the room. The ideal diffuse field is difficult to attain in any practical setting. It is best approximated in a large reverberant room at relatively great distances from the sound source.
