Calibrating Audiometers

Electrical Safety 

The Audiometer should be labeled according to the standard in which it complies with.  It will be either of the following:

  1. UL 544, Standard for Medical and Dental Equipment.
  2. UL 2601, Medical Electrical Equipment, Part 1:  General Requirements for Safety.
  3. IEC 601-1, Medical Electrical Equipment, Part 1:  General Requirements for Safety.
  4. ANSI/AAMI SCL, American National Standard Safe Current Limits for Eletromedical Apparatus.
