10th FINA SWIMMING WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS IN BARCELONA 2003 HAVE AN AMBASSADOR – “i-PLASH”
FINA and the Organising Committee of the 10th FINA World Swimming Championships in Barcelona 2003 presented  the official mascot and updated the preparation status of the venues and operation services of the Championships.
Among others very confident was the Mayor of the Catalonian capital. “We are in conditions to offer better conditions than the ones existing for the Olympic Games”, assured Joan Clos. In concrete, three innovative projects are being undertaken by the Barcelona 2003 OC: the construction of two swimming pools respectively in the Palau Sant Jordi and in the sea-front beach and the complete renovation of the existing diving pool in the Montjuic Complex. In 2003, like in 1992, spectators from all over the world will remember the image of the divers with the Sagrada Familia (one of Barcelona symbols) behind.
