YU National Championships 2001 (long course pool) was held under the marvelous organization of "Beograd" Swimming Club, Belgrade, the Sport Secretariat of Belgrade and upon the patronage of Yugoslav Swimming Federation and Swimming Association of Serbia. It joined round 30 domestic Clubs, also Borac-Incel SC from Republic of Srpska (Banja Luka) with about 260 athletes those took part in the competitions. Due to the YSF decision, this year the event joined three categories together at the event: cadets, juniors and seniors. The propositions were directed by the Yugoslav Swimming Federation  and LEN and the Championship was organized in the 50 m indoor pool (8 lines) of the Tasmajdan Swim and Sport Complex in Belgrade from Saturday, July 28th to Sunday, July 29th, 2001.
