In his turning to media at the final victor ceremony Mr. Ivan Djordjevic, President of the Swimming Federation of Belgrade expressed his thanks to all swim and sport enthusiasts for the efforts in the complete organization of the "Belgrade Victor 2002 Meet, especially to Sport Association of Serbia and the Assembly of Belgrade. He also invited competitors from Russia, Italy, Bosnia and Hertzegovina to come back next year, also to promote this event among their friends from other European countries. Our hope to establish a new International Swimming Competition in Belgrade became reality. The next one is a tradition. 


June 12, 2002  Meeting Promotion at the Belgrade's Parliament
 

Swimming Federation of Belgrade and the Organizing Committee have definitely announced the solemn opening of the first edition of the new International Swimming Competition named "Belgrade Victor 2002' on Saturday evening June 15, 2002 by the Olympic pool of '25 of May' sport center.
Mr. Borut Petric (ex YU record holder now swim official in Slovenia), Nenad and Predrag Milos (ex YU and Serbian record holders) been proclaimed as the promoters of the event, again expressed their satisfaction that Belgrade is swimming to its better future. The Organizing Committee together with  Assembly of Belgrade and Serbian Sport Association with the board of donators and sponsorships really inlayed enormous effort to establish a new serious international swimming competition, also to rise a basically interest for swimming especially among the youngest population in Belgrade.

" Swimming has to get the adequate treatment in Belgrade, and this is the way to popularize swimming as a basically sport especially among new competitors and younger talents. Our wish is to realize the idea that swimming should have to be established in the everyday life of Belgrade at the more different ways. And this meet is part of that". 
" Plivanje mora da dobije adekvatan tretman u Beogradu, a nasa je zelja da popularisemo plivanje kao bazican sport, posebno medju novim takmicarima i mladim talentima. Nasa je zelja da realizujemo ideju da plivanje bude prisutno u zivotu Beograda na vise razlicitih nacina. A ovaj miting je jedan od njih. (in Serbian)

" Until today, the meeting entries are received from about 200 competitors. As on the enormous response, which represents the additional motif, our duty is  to organize this first event at the high level. That should be the way to establish the new tradition for this competition in the future".

Swimming Federation of Belgrade and Belgrade Assembly announced the new International Open Swim Meeting "Belgrade Victor 2002"
At the press hall of the Belgrade Assembly on Thursday June 6, 2002, many old and present YU swim enthusiasts joined not only to present the International swim event in Belgrade and Serbia, but also to popularize swimming at all, especially among the youngest population of our capital. Two famous "Swim Brothers Pair" well known in former Yugoslavia Brothers Petric (Slovenia) and Brothers Milos (Serbia) will be the chief promoters. In his turning to the media Mr. Nenad Milos, Secretary General of Yugoslav Swimming Federation also promised some new winds in this region from the aspect of the rapid swim development. He announced that the Belgrade's Event will join this year more then 200 competitors from Italy, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Macedonia and Yugoslavia.
