"MONTENEGRO CUP MIMOSA 2001"
Herceg Novi, Montenegro, Yugoslavia, February 17th - 18th, 2001
The meeting was held on Saturday - Sunday 17-18 of February 2001 in the period of Traditional Days of Mimosa Fest, upon the organization of Swimming and Water Polo Club “JADRAN” Hercerg Novi, Montenegro, Yugoslavia. The competition was organized by the 25m indoor swimming pool in Mediterranean Health Center, 8 lines with the water temperature of 26 oC and air temperature of 28 oC. Organization of the event was realized according to the regulations of Yugoslav Swimming Federation and LEN. Time measuring was performed by the Sprint Timing of "Proleter" SC, Zrenjanin.

Our best athlete Mr. Igor Rasula with his trainer stayed about one week in mini practice prior to this traditional swim event in Herceg Novi. Thanking to Prof. Ivan Zuber and the kindness  of all swimmers  of  "Jadran" SC, our competitor spent fantastic time among his Montenegro colleagues. We also have to express our thanks also to Ms. Iva Ivovic, our consultant who helped us in the everyday organizing activities and staying. Well, sure will be back there next year again to Mimosa Meet.

After many arduous training, twice a day, with up to 15 km in the water, walking, fitness, etc. the smile  on Igor's face still stayed the same.

Fantastic conditions for 7-day training, really beautiful weather for the whole period of staying in Herceg Novi in the mid of February, our competitor used to do his best. And his worthy engagement brought the new times in 4 disciplines. We're all satisfied. Especially our young swimmer.

The first day of the Competition, Igor Rasula swam out 200 m free (time 2:13,50), 50 m free (time 28,51) and 50 m back (time 34,03) and the second day 100 m backstroke (time 1:12,82) and 100 m free (1:01,27). Excepting the  50 m free race, Igor has swum all his best times again and all those were made from the full training. As this competition was not the age group meet, our participants just used to check our present possibilities, also to reach some new experience in the older concurrence of the athletes born from 1983 and younger.
