THE BACKSTROKE START

Lenny Krayzelburg

Lenny Krayzelburg svetski rekorder u disciplinama 50, 100 i 200 ledjno ce vam makar malo pomoci i demonstrirati 'perfektan' start u velikim bazenima.

KRAYZELBURG VAM DEMONSTRIRA LEDJNI START (50m)

Backstroke World record holder, Lenny Krayzelburg demonstrates in this article the perfect long course start, while his coach, Mr. Mark Schubert, comments on the all parts of technique

Here's what Lenney says to keep in mind when doing a backstroke start:

Plant your feet on the touch pads about shoulder width apart to give yourself the greatest purchase.
Explode up and back off the pads.
Arch your back so you enter the water through a single "hole" in the water.
Stay streamlined as you enter the water.

Figure 1.
Lenny plants his feet on the touch pads under the surface of the water and about shoulder width apart. He grips the handles on the starting block, again about shoulder width apart. At the command, "Take your mark", he tucks his chin in.
Figure 2.
At the sound of the starting horn, Lenny explodes up and back, keeping his hands close to his body. He looks back toward the other and of the pool
Figure 3.
He extends his hands back to in a full streamlined position. As he flips his feet clear of the water, he arches his back.
U ovoj poziciji, on isteze ruke u nazad do dostizanja sledece pozicije u kojoj ce imati najidealniju aerodinamicnost
Figure 4.
His back fully arched and body perfectly streamlined, Lenny first enters the water with his hands, which point toward the bottom of the pool.
Figure 5.
His hands follows his hands through the same hole, as the maintains a perfect streamline.
Njegova glava prati njegove ruke prema istoj “rupi” kako bi izbegao bilo kakav otpor i postigao  idealnu aero i hidro dinamicnost.
Figure 6.
Finally, his torso, then his feet, also enter through the same hole, and he begins dolphin kicking underwater on his back, gradually angling his body upward so he breaks the surface at precisely 15 meters.
Konacno, njegov torzo, zatim stopala, takodje ulaze u istu “rupu”, a on zatim zapocinje sa podvodnim kik-om, stepenasto se zatim podizuci ka povrsini vode precizno na 15-tom metru.
