Small
note: As the Calendar of Yugoslav swimming meets also Republic
and National Championships are not defined yet, domestic athletes should
have the complete schedules after the Conference of Serbian Swimming Association,
going to be held on January 25, 2001. Regrettably, many circumstances out
of sport affected many problems in planning of the second half of the season,
our next steps and activities in the training process, competitions,
etc. But hard working in swimming must go on and our trainers and especially
competitors should try to be patient.

| Traditional Swimming Championships
of the Belgrade primary schools joined this year over 60 schools
with almost 600 competitors, pupils from the fifth to eighth classes (age
11-14). Present champ in comparing to the events in the early years, was
more attractive and this year the organization was consigned to the State
Ministry of Sport. The best school is "Seven secretaries of SKOJ",
New Belgrade with 11 medal totally.

Upon the sponsorships of Zrenjanin Community in the organization of 'Proleter' Swimming Club, and under the patronage of Yugoslav Swimming Federation from December 9 - 10, 2000 was held 9th traditional International Swimming Meeting "Zrenjanin Cup 2000". So come in, watch the propositions, program, early records, Complete results. Really this event was the most professional organized event this year here. There were almost 300 athletes in total from many European countries and Yugoslavia. Charm town, excellent swim facilities, hospitality and the open hearts for everyone really animated all who participated in.

| Upon the enormous effort of the top people of Proleter
Swimming Club, and the Chairmen of Zrenjanin Community, in the famous swim
Center of the town of Zrenjanin held the Yugoslav Championships in
Sprint. 20 Yugoslav Clubs and 2 from Republic of Srpska participated with
over 170 athletes.
Thanking to Mr. Sasa Mircetic, General manager of Proleter SC, we prepared the complete results. |

| This jubilee Meet
joined this year about 300 swimmers from Yugoslavia, Slovenia, Macedonia,
Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria (32 teams in total).
Fantastic event which was organized by "Vojvodina" Swimming Club, one of
the oldest and the most famous Club in our country. There were three
competition groups: seniors, cadets (born 1984-1985) and pioneers (born
1986 and younger). Great thanks and admiration to Prof.
Dr. Zlatko Ahmetovic, President and all his people from Vojvodina
SC, Novi Sad for their grat effort.

Really worthy results of the Yugoslav National Team at the Balkan Games 2000. Ms. Duska Radan and Ms. Marica Strazmester solved the limits in 50 m freestyle and 200 m backstroke for the Olympic Games in Sydney 2000. Romanian team was the best in total ranking. Our team with the new 7 National records and 16 medals was the third at the end. Watch the results. |
