The Annual Ceremony of Yugoslav Swimming Federation, Belgrade

At the end of this hapless year, the annual meeting of Yugoslav Swimming Federation had assembled many swimmers,
coaches, management of the clubs, sponsors, government deputies, media, etc.,  to analyze the activities in the last period.
One of the great news is that up to 12 new swimming clubs have been formed in our country although the swim surroundings,
funds, and other troubles could not enable qualitative conditions. Under the bombs and missiles 78 days all our swimmers
didn't break their sport's duties. For example, only one long course pool in Belgrade has been opened. Five swimming clubs,
three waterpolo clubs, two clubs of synchronized swimming  and one diving have been organizing their complete training
processes. Beside that we have had successes worldwide. Our top swimmer Mr. Vladan Markovic has made a new national
record in 100 m fly and became the first Olympic  candidate in swimming for Sydney '2000.
Mr. Dragoljub Raicevic, President of Yugoslav Swimming Federation with the members of the Presidency at the annual celebration ceremony held in Belgrade on December 21, 1999
Mr. Dragoljub Kocovic Vice Minister of sport in Serbian Government with Mrs. Olivera Mladenovic, President of Swim Star 2000 Swimming Club, Belgrade.
The YSF acknowledgments have been given for the worthy contributions in the development of Yugoslav Swimming in the last 365 days. Mr. Dragoljub Raicevic, President and Mr. Aleksandar Cerovic, Vice President expressed their gratitude especially to the Federal and Republic Ministers of sport.
Mr. Dragoljub Kocovic, Vice Minister of sport in Serbian Government has promised in his turn more help and special treatment in the budget for Yugoslav Swimming Federation  in the course of 2000. He also explained that a risen interest in swimming last year should present a great stimulus for the new young talents to try just to come close to the best YU swim legends successes achieved in the past.
