Poetics of the town of Herceg
Novi...
Herceg Novi and Igalo are
the neighborhood towns at the entrance of the Boka Kotorska Gulf cuddling
among two hundred and fifty species of tropical and subtropical plants.
The towns of sunshine, with two thousand and four hundred hours of sunshine
a year, with a mean annual air temperature of 17 deg. C and up to 105 days
a year with temp at 25 deg. C There is a 25 km long Riviera (from Njivice
site via Igalo, Herceg Novi, Meljine, Djenovici to Kotor and Tivat. This
riviera in fact is the most popular summer destination of many domestic
and international tourists. About 30,000 beds in all types of accommodation
(ten A and B category hotels, the Mediterranean Health Center, private
suites, car camps, holiday resorts, etc.
There are many attractive
outing places at the entrance of the Boka Kotorska Gulf (Zanjice, Mamula,
Azra, Miriste, the Blue Cave), in the Gulf of Boka (Kotor, Risan, the Perast
Island), with a mountainous hinterland, Mount Orijen and the snow clad
slopes of Vrbanja and Subra, where one can ski till late spring.
Herceg Novi is also town
of Sports, recreation and medical rehabilitation with 7 indoor swimming
pools, tennis center in Topla, football stadium at Igalo, etc.
