| To the honor of the
80-Year Anniversary of the organized Swimming Events in Maribor, the new
international meet 'Maribor 2003' was held at the end of December 2003.
This marvelous competition really assured our delegation that we've participated
in one of the best organized swimming event in Europe in last four years...Those
are the impressions firstly of our competitors, but also of the official
delegate. The OC with Mr. Danilo Salamon, President of Branik SC and Prof.
Silvester Liposek, Meet Director, have taken care of every, even just a
small detail. The accommodation, transfers, food, refreshments by the pool,
marketing, results lists, really everything were at the highest level,
which helped all participants, trainers and officials to have their pleasant
staying and competing. And what is more important, the conditions
by the new (not yet full finished) "Pristan" Olympic City Pool, also the
new Omega timing system and the fast result's reports arranged by PZS Timing
staff (of Slovenian Swimming Association), enabled a posibility to everyone
in the water to set and/or achieve its best time. Again, the Presidency
of our club expresses the gratitude for the excellent host, also would
like to route the interest of all European Swim operators to allot
this LC event in their year's competition programs as one of the most significant
(at the end of the club's first season's micro cycle).
