Cavic's World
Record in 100 Fly Men 0:50.02 !!!!
 |
I naravno
to se isplatilo... Prikupljena je snaga, motivacije nije nedostajalo, valjalo
je pobediti velikog Thomas Rupprath-a... I uspelo je, i ne samo to... sa
novim Svetskim, evropskim i rekordom evropskih sampionata u malim bazenima...
Cestitke
od svih njegovih obozavalaca iz Beograda !!! |
World Record for Cavic in 100 Fly (by Nick J. Thierry
transferred from SwimNews.com) |
| |
| Milorad Cavic (SCG) had the performance
of the meet on the second day of the 2003 European SC Championships. Cavic
won the 100 butterfly with a 50.02, improving the old record of 50.10 by
Thomas Rupprath (GER) from 2002, who was second an arm length behind finishing
in 50.43. Of note was Andriy Serdinov (UKR) in third with 50.88. |
| "I trained hard for results," Cavic
said. "I was hoping to drop a second from my semi-final time of 51.37 yesterday.
My main focus is on the Olympics where I'll be concentrating on the 50
free and 100 fly. "I swim a fantastic 50.88," Serdinov in third said,
"and then someone I have never seen sets a World record!" |

Mr. Filipovic's Comments
on the Dublin '03 Day-2 morning heats...
Zaista sam obradovan dobrim plivanjem danasnjih predstavnika Srbije i Crne
Gore, jer mi je dobro poznato u kakvim skromnim uslovima rade i kako do
poslednjeg trenutka nisu sigurni hoce li zbog ocajnih finansijskih prilika
uzeti ucesca na ovako velikim takmicenjima... Posebno sam zadovoljan novim
drzavnim rekordima Danijele Djikanovic u disciplini 50 Delfin (28.85),
kao i Igora Beretica u disciplini 50 ledjno (25.88)... |
| |
| Milorad Cavic
Pogledajte
samo tri najbolja vremena ostvarena u polufinalu: RUPPRATH Thomas GER 23.78
CAVIC Milorad SCG 23.96 i SERDINOV Andrii UKR 24.32 Pozelimo
Cavicu sve najbolje !!! |

Mr. Filipovic's Comments
on the Dublin '03 Day-1 evening events...
u stafeti 4x50 mesovito (GER -Ruprath, Warnecke, Freidrich, Dehmlow) u
vremenu 1:34.46, zatim novi rekordi Evropskih prvenstava: Sarah
Poewe (GER) 50 prsno (30.40), Jani Sievinen (FIN) 200 mesovito (1:55.40)
i Blaz Medvesek (SLO) 200 ledjno (1:52.60)… |
| |
| Posebno me je
400 m kraul i posle relativno slabijeg prolaza 1.51sek drugih 200m otplivao
je 1.49 sek i osvojio zlato... Sto se Portugalske reprezentacije tice
u stafeti 4 x 50 mesovito u kojoj je oboren novi svetski rekord (GER),
osvojivsi 11. mesto oboren je novi drzavni rekord Portugala u vremenu
1.39.00 cemu je i moj plivac Daniel Pereira dao veliki doprinos otplivavsi
deonicu 50 ledjno za 26.33. |

Mr. Filipovic's Comments
on the Dublin '03 Day-1 morning...
(Dec.
relativno bez preteranih iznenadjenja.
dorucak u 6.00 a rasplivavanje u 7.15 moj najbolji takmicar Daniel Pereira
Danasnja polufinala i finala
ce biti sasvim sigurno uzbudljiva, posebno u 50 Free, sledecu informaciju
imacete neposredno nakon toga... |

Today
we saw some surprises in the prelims. One of the upset came when Katy Sexton
(GBR), the reigning world champion in the 200m backstroke, failed to make
it into the semifinals here in the 100 meters. Sexton finished fourth in
her heat and even though her time of 1:00.98 was 14th, the new LEN rules
only allow 2 swimmers per Federation to advance beyond the first round.
A new rule permits a country to enter as many as four swimmers per event,
with
the two fastest moving on into semifinals and finals. Sexton was the third
fastest Britain today behind Commonwealth champion Sarah Price (59.56)
and Melanie Marshall (1:00.00). Mark Foster, short course WR-holder
in the 50 free, managed only to qualify 16th, taking the final spot for
the semifinals. James Gibson qualified easily in the 100m breast
(58.49). From others, Irish swimmer Andrew Bree, who swims collegiately
for Tennessee (USA), qualified in both the 200 IM and 100 breast, while
Emma Robinson made it into the semifinals in the 50 breast. |

European Short Course Championships in Dublin 41 nations – Germany with
van Almsick Dublin (pps) Great Britain have entered the largest team ever
at this Event for the 7th European Short Course Swimming Championships,
to take place on December 11-14, 2003, in Dublin. The British team will
open the Olympic season with 55 athletes, among them the World Champions
Katy Sexton (200m backstroke) and James Gibson (50m breaststroke), thus
exploiting the opportunity offered by LEN with a special regulation for
Dublin to enter up to four swimmers in the heats. Germany, too, are sending
one of their largest team ever, with 37 athletes headed by the five-time
2002 European Champion Franziska van Almsick (25), who has a total of 22
European titles on short and long course on her credit. Dublin is an important
station for van Almsick on her road to fulfil her last great dream in sports
– the Olympic gold medal in her World record event, the 200m freestyle.
Franziska van Almsick won the 200m free at the German National Short Course
Championships last week clocking 1min56.38sec, but lost the 100m free to
her Berlin club-mate Britta Steffen (53.87sec) in 54.22 seconds. In addition
to Almsick, Germany also rely on the three World Champions, Hannah Stockbauer
(400/800/1500m freestyle), Antje Buschschulte (100m backstroke) and Thomas
Rupprath (50m backstroke). With altogether 143 medals, including 49 gold,
Germany is the most successful nation in the past six editions of the European
Short Course Swimming Championships. |
| |
41 Federations have entered the Championships in Dublin, a new record-entry
by nations. Italy will come with the 200m individual medley Olympic Champion,
Massimiliano Rosolino, 2001 World Champion Alessio Boggiatto (400m individual
medley) and title holder Lorenzo Vismara (100m freestyle). Sweden have
entered Olympic champion Lars Frolander (100m butterfly), World Short Course
Champions Therese Alshammar (50/100m freestyle), Emma Igelstrom (50/100m
breaststroke) and Anna-Karin Kammerling (50m butterfly), as well as title
holder Stefan Nystrand (50m freestyle). The Swiss team boast top freestyler
Karel Novy, the Czech Republic their European silver medallists, Ilona
Hlavackova (50/100m backstroke) and Kvetoslav Svoboda (200m freestyle). |
