is a resident of
Link to Metta Cattery
She is one of our oldest resident at the cattery. Like Nala, she is also suffering from a bad gum infection and most of her teeth have extracted and she needs to be on canned food. She also needs to go for her yearly teeth-scaling. You can distinguish from the other cats by just one look ..she is the only cat whose tongue is permanently out! Cute eh?

10th July 2003:Topsy was sent to see Dr Grace Heng of the Animal Clinic, Clementi for "bad flu" and not eating for last two days. She was slightly dehydrated and so was put on a drip. Medication was given for her gum problem that had caused her to stop eating. The following Topsy was eating. She was discharged back to MettaCattery.

21st July 2003: Topsy underwent dental scaling at the Animal Clinic, Clementi.

SY's account of what happened on the day Topsy passed away:-

Topsy died peacefully at the ARC Veterinary Clinic on the morning of 10th August 2003, a day after Singapore celebrated its 38th year of Independence.

Bax dug a hole on the empty piece of land next to the cattery.

In the evening, SY brought Topsy back to her home of 4 years.

Topsy's body was stiff and cold.

Buddhist nun, KC, was also present.

She remarked that Topsy's eyes were not completely close.

Topsy was laid to rest on a piece of cloth.

Venerable KC began chanting.

When the chanting ended, all three were astonished to see that Topsy's eyes were now close.

When her body was touched, it was soft.

Tears welled in the eyes of SY, Bax and KC, flowing unabashedly.

May all sentient beings have happiness and its' causes,
May all sentient beings be free of suffering and its' causes,
May all sentient beings never be separated from bliss without suffering,
May all sentient beings be in equanimity, free of bias, attachment and anger.
