Sweet Pea at Metta Cattery on 1st July 2000

4th June 2000:
A gentleman in his early twenties called Alex Goh with his girlfriend came to cattery in the early afternoon. From his car, he carried a box with a 3-4 months' old kitten in it. He said he had been feeding this stray kitten on the ground floor of his block of flats and he has developed fondness for her. However he couldn't bring the kitten home as he already has 2 or 3 cats. He found

from the Internet. When asked for the name of the kitten, his girlfriend said "Eeow" which is the sound the kitten made. "Eeow" was accepted into the cattey as Alex agreed to sponsor for her stay and her neutering when she was older. Her girlfriend contributed $100. Alex and his girlfriend then left the cattery. Attempts to contact him failed as his pager was terminated and there was no response to the email given by him. We the volunteers of the cattery hope that this would be the only case of irresponsible cat-dumping. Jenny renamed "Eeow" Sweet-pea and she is indeed a very sweet little feline being. A great climber of the wire-nettings and she will find ways to sneak into locked cubicles!

DIARY

3rd June 2000
Sweet-pea was vaccinated at the cattery

23rd September 2000: Neutered and Vaccinated at Namly Animal Clinic

6th October 2000L: Sweetpea was not her usual self lately and she has lost some weight. Ms Lee gave her antibiotic (vibravet) paste and today she is back to her usual self. She thinks she is a spider again! She will climb to the top of the front wire-door with her limbs spread-eagled just like spider-man but this is spider-cat! She will move gingerly to one side when the door is opened.
