After about 10 minutes he became drowsy. With the assistance of Sharon, who held Oliver down, the front leg was shaved for insertion of a venula into his vein for an anaesthetic to be given. Oliver was promptly knocked off. Dr Ang then inserted a catheter into his urethra, initially with great difficulty. She used Saline to flush as she inserted and finally a mucus plug came off,finaly allowing a smooth introduction of the catheter. Turbid blood stained urine came forth. The catheter was stitched in place and will allow flushing of the bladder. The catheter will be removed by saturday. We decided to allow him to stay in the vet for better care. 15th August 2001 2.07pm Jennifer wrote: "Visited Oliver yesterday at 6.30pm. HuiJing also came after class. Dr. Loh was on duty. He told me that Dr. Ang would like to keep Oliver for observation till next Monday. He said Oliver is very friendly n manja. Yes....., he was very manja, kept using his paws to massage my blouse n hands. It was very gentle massage even though he stretched out his nails. He wanted to come out n be carried. I asked Dr. Loh if I could carry him. He said no as he has the tube on. Dr. Loh told me to bring mc food for him as he is not used to the Animal Clinic's food. I fed him with some Whiskas dry food n he ate. It was difficult for him to eat cos of the elizabethan collar. He squatted a few times but no urine. Then he squatted for more than 10mins till he got tired n lowered his body from a sitting position to that of a crouching position (swaying ........ like a person going to doze off with eyes closed). I asked the assistant to check if there was any urine, no urine. He said the tube will urge him to urine even though there is no urine. I played paw massaging with him. After a while Oliver settled at the back of the cage n tried to sleep with his eyes closed. Joan was there with her dog (for vaccination) & went in to see Oliver also. think the vets & assistants there must be confused why this cat has so many dif 'owners'?! according to Jenny, Oliver is bright & manja ... attention-seeking. he ate the hill science diet dry food given by the clinic. She said Oliver still peeing traces of blood so catheter cannot be taken out yet lest another clot recur ... We flushed Oliver's bladder again . He was switched to a different antibiotic yesterday. If he is still dripping blood by Monday, we may have to send a urine sample off for testing. 20th August 2001 11.15pm Sharn wrote: the clinic called me in the morning to inform that they would like to send some of Oliver's urine for culture & sensitivity test (results of which will be known in a week's time). reason being, oliver is still peeing blood despite the change of a more 'powerful' antibiotics on wednesday. they also found a blood clot in the catheter which means another blockage. what they've done now is to put oliver on drip in an attempt to 'force' fluids into oliver & thereby flushing his bladder. however, should oliver still pee blood by wednesday or thursday, then we'll need to bring him over to the clementi clinic for some x-rays to be taken. however, dr ang do note that oliver is certainly active, alert & manja ... & is a 'hit' with the staff at the katong clinic. 今天早上诊所来电通知他们会把一些Oliver尿液拿去作细胞组织和敏感性的测试（结果会在一个星期內知道）。尽管于星期三已经更换药力更强的抗生素，Oliver的小便还是有血迹。他们同时发现导管內也有血块，这表示另有阻塞物。现在他们要怎么样，是尝试‘强迫’ 把液体滴入Oliver体内和由此冲洗他的膀胱。无论如何，星期三或星期四，Oliver的尿液还有血迹，我们将带他去金文泰诊所作X-Ray检查。 21st August 19:42:08; Sharon's SMS (from the Animal Clinic) "Saw Oliver at Animal Clinic, Telok Kurau. His pee has cleared with only very slight stain of blood. He is very "manja" (affectionate) like what Dr Loh said, he likes to hug people. Thinks he should be able to go back soon." “直落古楼的动物诊所看Oliver。他的尿液的血迹已经清除到只有少量。他非常可爱就象Dr Loh说：他喜欢抱人。看来他很快就可以回来了。 Dr Ang has this to say: Dr Ang有话要说 "I also heard Oliver's urine has cleared . Will check him tomorrow. Also the urine test has come back saying no bacteria in the urine. Probably the new antibiotic & fluids are working. Oliver再次显示膀胱受感染。动物诊所的Dr Daphne Ang替他诊治和发现他的膀胱变厚。他和药品一起送回猫之家。他的医药费： 5th January 2002 Oliver again exhibited signs of bladder infection. He was seen by Dr Daphne Ang of the Animal Clinic and his bladder was found to be thickened. He was sent back to the cattery with medication. His medical fees :- consultation 28 injs medication 8 medication 15 medication 1 medication 4 gst 1.68 total 57.68 8th July 2002;  Sharon:"Oliver was seen by Dr Daphne Ang of Animal Clinic for open wound at lower neck due to broken abscess, likely to be caused by fights. Very bad teeth with teeth scaling done" Cost $190.10  Sharon: “Oliver到动物诊所给Dr Daphne Ang治疗，因为颈项的下部脓肿的伤口破裂，好象是打架所造成的。清理败坏的牙齿。费用是：$190.10。
