10th December 2003: About a month ago, two female cats were dumped at the void deck of a block of flats in Bedok. The friendly and trusting nature of these cats indicate that they grew up in a human environment. One of these cats is now called Spotsie. The other is a light brown siamese-cross. I noticed that one of her eyes were scarred. She appeared more elusive than the Siamese-cross. To my surprise, instead of the friendly Siamese-cross, it was Spotsy that I trapped into the carrier on the evening of 1st December 2003. She was quiet in the back seat of the car all the way to the clininc. When I handed the carrier to the Vet Assistant, I held it up and saw her huddled into the far end. The next day, when I collected her in the evening , she was awake and calmly quiet. I took her to MettaCattery to recuperate for a week. At the cattery, I looked her eyes and found that both corneas were scarred, probably from untreated eye infection in the past. She was soon asleep in the carrier. 9th December 2003: I called SY to collect Spotsie for release at the void deck. SY asked to leave Spotsie at the cattery as she was partially blind and that there was someone who was interested in adopting or sponsor Spotsie.
Spotsie is a very affectionate kitten. She is about 7-8 months of age. Despite the scarring on her corneas (the dark part of the eye-ball), she is nimble and has no problems with navigating the cattery. She will be one great loving "lap" cat! |
