Highway was brought in by Kael. She found the cat along a highway, very skinny & wobbly.

The cat's head is tilted to the left & both eyes are slightly cloudy.

Brought her along with Rodene to see Dr Heng.

There's no fracture and most probably her current condition is caused by either post trauma, beaten up by someone or an infection in her brain and has affected the nerves. She is currently on antibiotic and neurobion. If her condition remains the same after medication, nothing can be done and she will be our second cat with tilted neck.

"HIGHWAY" by Kael Foo, 26th March 2003

"Found on the stretch of PIE near kallang bahru entrance into PIE, while I was driving on the highway. At first I couldn't tell what it was, a small brown lump by the side of the highway, which could be very well a brown paper bag, but as I drove closer to it, I saw that it was a cat! It was all within 4s, the driving towards, passing by and seeing it, but I vaguely remember seeing it twitch and the unmistakeable pointy cat ears. Probably got lost coz it's very near the industry parks, and wandered intothe highway(of all places)!"

Well, you couldn't stop on the highway so I made my BF drove around and found a way back (stopped at the bus stop on the kallang bahru entrance to PIE) and walked/climbed my way to the cat. Drawn alot of curious onlookers' stares as they were zooming by. Well, Highway really stunk (defecated on herself) and she could barely struggle to run away from me when I grabbed her. Brought her home to bathe and clean her up amidst my mother's screaming and yelling that I brought such a "Dirty and sick thing" home, so i had no choice but to call sharon. Thank God for sharon that highway is now in MC.

11th July 2003: Highway was sent to the Animal Clinic, Clementi,  for removal of lump under the tongue. Fortunately it turned out to be a harmless cyst.

6th September 2003: SY brought Highway for vet consultation because of a swelling at her chin. The vet found a "hole" at the chin and it was badly infected. The pus was squeezed (Highway has a good temperament but still needed to be restrained by the vet assistant). An injection of antibiotic was given and treatment is oral antibiotic for the next 4 days. To and fro the Vet were by taxi.

8th September 2003:18.13pm SMS from SY: "Highway's wound drying up. Today fed her wet food. She ate some.

14th September 2003: Highway's wound has healed.
