30th August 2003: Rescued recently, Girl-girl did not apear to be pregnant. It was a shock to find her with 3 newborn babies. One died. It was only after much coaxing that she accepted the two newborn for suckling. 31st August 2003: One of the two surviving kittens died and another kitten was found dead in the litter bin. 6th September 2003: In the wee morning hours, SY and her son were wakened by the shriek cries of kittens. They got out of the flat to search. SY found a kitten with bite marks on the face. A sibling was found. She brought the kittens home and in the later part morning, to MettaCattery. With some apprehension, she put the 2 newborn kittens into the carrier where Girl-Girl, an extremely nervous grey cat (recently rescued from culling) was nursing the only surviving of 4 kittens, born on the 31st of August 2003. The grey-mother accepted the 2 newbies, who were bigger in size than her own one-week kitten. 7th September 2003: One of the two rescued kittens died. 14th September 2003
15th September 2003: "GirlGirl's only baby grey passed away at around 9.45pm just now. She was foaming and panting away at its mouth before she died. GirlGirl was meowing away.
She will be buried tomorrow."

Subject: RE: Adoption of Mickey Siew
Ying has been very helpful and kind. I really admired her for taking care of the
many many abandon cats at the cattery. It had been a wonderful experience when i
was there with all the cats. She did told me abt what happen to Mickey when she
found him.... its sad to hear that his brother / sis died.
I had not send him for vax and deworn yet as he still got abit of flu. Mickey really hates the flu fluid for him. He gets pissed each other after i fed him with it. But still, he's so loving. He loves to play with his toy - duckling and mouse. He actually prefer to stay outdoor of our house. He normally will play behind the garden of our house. Sent: Monday, January 05, 2004 3:49 PM
Mickey
has been good, eating well, and he plays alot in the garden, hiding behind
flowerpots and chasing the birds etc. He is full of life.
Such a little darling... Thanks again for giving Mickey to me. love
eileen Sent: Monday, January 19, 2004 11:10 PM Subject: mickey new pics Hi there, I've got some new pics of mickey to share with you & the rest of the team.
Pics
taken on 16 Jan, in my bedroom.
Mickey had been good, still got flu and i think he is coughing now as well. But then he is still playful and hyper active... he is very adorable indeed ! He is so smart that he would come to my room to look for me, wake me up by disturbing me in the morning, usually he do that when he did not get to see me in the kitchen or garden. He will follow me everywhere when i am at home, watching me doing my work, and he will wait for me outside the bathroom when i take my shower... I will probably be bringing Mickey for a check up tomorrow. Will keep u posted. best rgds eileen Sent: Thursday, February 12, 2004 8:58 PM
IHe is fine, and
growing pretty fast. His flu is not so bad now and should be clearing up I suppose. He is so lovable as usual, playful at times... he will 'meow' , looking
around to seek company if he feels lonely. He had grew tired of his usual toys,
so now I have to crumple up unwanted papers into ' ball ball' for him to play,
for him to chase and kick around. Well, he really likes this 'ball ball' game
hee.....and sometimes he will bring his ball ball to me if he gets bored playing
alone.
He is very attached to me now and at times when I leave for work, he would want to follow me. So most of the times, I have to sneak out of the house when he is having his food or playing behind the garden. I think it is b'cos I've brought him out with me in the car once over the weekend, that's why he will want to follow me for a ride out. We do not restrict him moving around our house so he sleeps everywhere he likes, on the sofa, on my bed, behind the garden, infront of the porch, on top of my car & in his carrier at the laundry area. I will bring Mickey down to pay a vist to Siew Ying when i am free. Till then... warmest regards, eileen |
