1. How did the band get started? How did you meet
and how long have you been together? Vincent Crowley:
After I broke up my band Acheron, I decided to form a band with other
musicians I have admired in the scene. So I formed Wolfen Society
with some great fucking guys. The project started about 5 months ago.
2. How would you describe your music? Vincent
Crowley: Hate filled! It is hate metal, pure and simple!
3. What are your biggest influences? Vincent Crowley:
Hatred, the occult, sex, and chaos. 4. What influence
do you think your bands has in music and metal today?
Vincent Crowley: We are to new to tell. But we hope to spread
the hate around the world. Our music shows our hatred for mankind
and all white light religions. 5. What made you want to
be in the band? And if you werent in the band what would you
be doing now? Vincent Crowley: It is a true release
for me. It let's me use my creativity in a productive way. If I didn't
have music, I'd most likely be in jail for mass murder! (Ha, ha)
6. Are any band members in side projects? If so what are they,
and explain a little about them. Vincent Crowley:
Wolfen society is the musical project. Everyone has their other bands.
I used to do Acheron, now I am in the mists of doing my new band "Crowley."
Our drummer Kyle Severn is in Incantation, our rhythm guitarist Lord
Ahriman is in Dark Funeral, and Thomas Thorn (keyboards, samples,
and 2nd vocals) and Ricktor Ravensbruck (lead guitar) are in The Electric
Hellfire Club. 7. How would you feel if a band took their
sound from yours and became very well known? Vincent
Crowley: If they did it on purpose, that would be pathetic. I
really don't care what other bands do. I only care about what "my"
band does. I have no time for soap operas. We write original music
and that is all that matters to me. 8. What current bands
do you like or respect? Vincent Crowley: Anyone
that is original and pushes the buttons of the public. But my favorites
are king Diamond, Morbid Angel, Black Sabbath, Deicide, Velvet Acid
Christ, Mercyful Fate, etc. 9. How many demos/albums do
you have? Tell me about them!! Vincent Crowley:
We have a 4 song mini-cd called "Conquer Divine" coming out by the
end of this year on House of Death Records. It will feature the songs
"Conquer Divine", "Blood Oath", "Life is War", and a cover of Carnivore's
song "Race War." 10. What demo/album do you like the best?
Vincent Crowley: I can't answer that, since this will
be our first release. 11. What is the meaning behind the
songs? Vincent Crowley: The concept of Wolfen
Society is the misanthropic lifestyle. All our songs deal with hatred!
12. What are the bands favorite songs? Vincent
Crowley: We like them all. They are like our diabolic children.
Our musical spawn. 13. What does the future hold for the
band? Vincent Crowley: We are presently looking
for a label to release our next cd "Misanthropic race" on. After that,
who knows. We just hope to continue recording brutal music.
14. If you could play with any band who would it be and why?
Vincent Crowley: I would have to say the original Black
Sabbath. Because they brought me into this world of metal. They are
the true metal gods! 15. Who writes the majority of the
music? Vincent Crowley: I do, but we all contribute
our own personal touches to each song. So you can say I build the
foundation and we build from there. 16. Who has been the
favorite band youve played with and why? Vincent
Crowley: As for me personally, I'd have to say Deicide.
17. Where did you get the band name from? Vincent
Crowley: Wolfen Society was supposed to be the underground society
of an ex-organization I ran called "The Order of the Evil Eye." So
I am keeping the idea alive with this band. Those who understand what
we are about are also a part of the Wolfen Brood. 18.
Describe what the band is like live? Vincent Crowley:
We don't play live shows. But if we did, it would be very intense!
19. If you are gonna do any kind of video what would be in
it? Vincent Crowley: Destruction, murders, riots,
chaos, insanity, sickness and warfare. 20. Are there any
touring plans made; if so tell me about them? Vincent
Crowley: No. The members other bands do the touring. Wolfen society
is a recording project. 21. Where do you think the band
will be 20 years from now? Vincent Crowley: Who
knows? I live for today. |
