Andreas Söderlund of Holocaust - Back
1. How did the band get started? How did you meet and how long have you been together?

Andreas Söderlund: We started out in '94 as a fourpiece (now we're a threepiece). We were simply a coupple of guys that wanted to express our "love" for deathmetal by starting a band.

2. How would you describe your music?

Andreas Söderlund: Quality deathmetal with some 'melodies' but still heavy as fuck!

3. What are your biggest influences?

Andreas Söderlund: It's hard to say the biggest casue it would have to be everything I listen to and that ranges from black sabbath to krisiun.

5. What made you want to be in the band? And if you weren’t in the band what would you be doing now?

Andreas Söderlund: My affection for deathmetal and the fact that i enjoy playing the guitar and scream. If I were not in a band I'd probably sit at home masturbating to old Sarah Young pornomovies.

6. Are any band members in side projects? If so what are they, and explain a little about them.

Andreas Söderlund: No, the only sideprojekts they have is drinking alcohol during the weekends.

7. How would you feel if a band took their sound from yours and became very well known?

Andreas Söderlund: Never thought about that.

8. What current bands do you like or respect?

Andreas Söderlund: Marduk, cause they have done their thing for such a long time. And Lemmy of Motörhead cause he's the coolest guy alive.

9. How many demos/albums do you have? Tell me about them!!

Andreas Söderlund: We have released 2 demos and 1 mcd. What can I say? All of them have good sound quality and the music style is quite the same with relatively short songs and they are all recorded in the same studio.

10. What demo/album do you like the best?

Andreas Söderlund: Personally I like them just as much.

11. What is the meaning behind the songs?

Andreas Söderlund: To spread fear and plague!

12. What are the bands favorite songs?

Andreas Söderlund: I don't know about the others but my two favourites are 'I gut you babe' and 'The necrosearch'. Both off the new mcd 'Hellfire Holocaust'.

13. What does the future hold for the band?

Andreas Söderlund: Well, we have a contract for one more cd on Sound Riot productions so we're working on some material for that one and then I don't know.

15. Who writes the majority of the music?

Andreas Söderlund: I do, but we all 'glue' the riffs togother when we rehearse and a friend of mine wrote to lyrics for the MCD. but apart from that I do the lyric-writing too.

16. Who has been the favorite band you’ve played with and why?

Andreas Söderlund: We haven't played with that many bands but I think it was this one time when we played with Anata in Varberg SWEDEN, cause that was the first time we ever got to play outside our home town and we all got really fuckin drunk on some homemade vodka that tasted like amonia or something.

17. Where did you get the band name from?

Andreas Söderlund: I think it must have been from Immortals 'Pure Holocaust' album.

18. Describe what the band is like live?

Andreas Söderlund: We play our music of course and bang our heads.

19. If you are gonna do any kind of video what would be in it?

Andreas Söderlund: A lot of video with us partying, playing live, women etc...

20. Are there any touring plans made; if so tell me about them?

Andreas Söderlund: No.

21. Where do you think the band will be 20 years from now?

Andreas Söderlund: Don't ask man, I have no idea. If anyone wishes to buy our new MCD contact me on holocaust_666@hotmail.com.
