In this case, it was with LIZ PHAIR at her gig at Santa Monica's initimate McCabe's Guitar Shop, where DAVE PIRNER and DAN MURPHY previewed new material, and local phenomenon BECK opened up. Backstage, WINONA RYDER called Phair's show "amazing", despite the number of record-biz honchos present.
