Cast of Characters for Great Expectations

Trynia Merin

(Latrice Noel Merino)-Former chemistry student of Villanova, enrolled in their Master's program. When attending a KISS concert her car broke down, and she was helped by two good Samaritans, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. After a tryst with both, she was surprised and amazed that Paul suggested she accompany them on their tour till she went back to school, so she could pay for extensive repairs to her defunct car. A quick romance blossomed into love, and she and Paul are trying to sort out the details of their new and passionate relationship.

Fellow Villanovans

Arthur (Artie) Silverman

Fellow graduate student and member of the same research group Trynia worked for under Dr. Goyette. He is an ardent KISS fan, particularly of Gene Simmons, and one of the first of her friends to figure out who her boyfriend was. He feels very protective of his friend, whom he considers a sister in a sense, and is dating her labmate Melanie.

Sharmane Washington

Trynia's one time roommate and closest friend, Sharmane is also a student in chemistry at Villanova. She works for Dr. Ellis, and is one of the few people Trynia told about her relationship with Paul Stanley. Currently she is dating Dwight, from one of the other chemistry labs, and continues to live in the apartment they once shared.

Dwight Ives

Graduate student and boyfriend to Sharmane, who works for Dr. Davis, the resident biochemist. He works long hours for the unforgiving professor, and when Trynia offered him and his girlfriend free tickets to see Phantom, he couldn't refuse. However, Dr. Davis punished him for not putting in that weekend's work by dumping an extra assignment on him, which Trynia assisted Dwight in finishing.

Melanie Sharpe

Girlfriend to Art, and new graduate student, the same year as Trynia. She works along with Art and Trynia for Dr. Goyette in his organic research group.

Dr. Robert Goyette

Trynia's research advisor, who recognizes her unique approach to chemistry, and considers her a valuable asset to his team. He has been a professor at Villanova for 15 years, and was once the Graduate committee Chair before the office passed to Dr. Ellis, the Assistant department Chair. Terri Mason teaching assisted in his General Chemistry class while she was a student at Villanova.

Dr. Merle Davis

The biochemistry professor whom Trynia worked as a teaching assistant for. Despite all her attempts to please him, he was far from satisfied. He is extremely meticulous and critical of her lifestyle and approach to chemistry, even crossing such lines as criticizing her schedule. His idea of the ideal chemistry student is one who spends 12-hour days in lab working diligently on a chemistry project, even putting in weekends if necessary. To have a life outside of chemistry is inconceivable for him, although he himself has a wife and family. If you are not willing to eat, sleep, breathe and excrete chemistry, you have no business being in graduate school, according to him.

Dr. Ellis

The other biochemistry professor, who has spent 30 years at Villanova. He has served as department chair, and now is Assistant Department chair.

Dr. Groves

Terri's former research advisor, and the current Department Chair of Chemistry at Villanova. He and Terri share a close professional relationship, and still keep in touch routinely as Terri donates considerable sums of money to the department from her writing and lecture career.

Paul's friends/ex's

Rochelle

A model and actress that dated Paul in the early seventies and in the eighties. For the purpose of this story, she was the inspiration for I Was Made for Loving You, and is an affectionate of art. Currently she lives in NYC and is married to a football star. However, when she and Trynia met at Trynia's first art show, Trynia became jealous of the anecdotes that Rochelle had to tell of her time with Paul. Rochelle purchased one of Trynia's paintings for a considerable sum.

Minor characters, but no less important

Paul's faithful limousine driver and bodyguard when he's on tour. He knows the depth of affection Paul holds for Trynia, and although he'd like to tell her how much Paul missed her when she was at school, he will not cross the line of business and personal involvement.

Lisa

Gene and Terri's housekeeper, who is currently married to Chris.

Steve

Gene and Terri's limo driver, and personal bodyguard.

Dan

Peter's driver and security guard when on tour with KISS

Chuck
