Choir Melodika is one of a few professional children's choirs of Europe.
The Children's art school named after the prominent conductor Eugene Mravinski is one of the oldest specialized educational institutions of Saint-Petersburg, where more than 1000 students are taught to play piano, stringed, brass, folk and percussion instruments, as well as to sing in a choir.
The concert Choir Melodika represents the creative image of the School. Its repertoir. includes the pieces of Russian and European classical music, folk songs and the compositions of the Western and modern composers.
The concert life of the Choir is extremely multifaceted. The team performs the solo programmes at the best concert halls of Saint-Petersburg and is constantly giving the performances on the tours throughout Russia and Europe. The audience of Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands , France, Sweden and Finland welcomed the young musicians with great enthusiasm.
The choir was recurrently performing on tours in Germany and in 1997 it won the silver diploma of the second International Festival in Gissen. In the 1998 the choir becomes the diplomant of Mravinsky International Festival, the laureate of the City Festival in Saint-Petersburg and the laureate of the 9th International Festival "Composers to the Children".The Choir consists of 35 persons from 12 to 19 years old.

The creative plans of the choir team include the improvement of performance mastery, propagation of choral music, expansion of relationship and contacts with the collectives of the various countries.
