I have a livejournal.
I'll probably use it mostly for communicating with the MT forums crew. No link provided. You'll find it if you want to, or if I want you to.

Quest for love, quest for dream, quest for all truth...
Well, it had to happen. Dad finally figured out I'm serious about the whole "going to America to see some guy I've never met" thing. He was understandably upset, especially given the recent story in the news of a 12-year-old British girl who ran off with an American GI she met over the Net.
So we had a little tète-à-tète about it, and he made an offer to pay for Scott's trip to Poland so he could get a good look at him.
At that point I understood that feeling Shinichi gets when he sees the whole case laid out before him, every single detail falling into place, and the proof of the murderer's identity in his hand. Here's what I knew for certain:
1. Dad is sure Scott does not really care about me. He's calling his bluff.
2. Scott does care about me. He'll grab at the chance to come see me in a heartbeat.
3. Dad is a wonderful person and would never extend an invitation like that without backing it up.
So I dragged Dad to the computer room, fired up AIM, and proceeded to act as relay in a conversation between the two most important men in my life. It unfolded exactly as I foresaw it: Scott was a bit taken aback, and his politeness was seen by Dad as an attempt to weasel out of the deal. Oh the drama... But this could only end in one single manner: we agreed to have Scott come to Poland from December 1st to 6th.
I could see Dad's resolve crumbling. I think he's still hoping Scott will never mention this again, but he also knows that Scott is serious and *will* take him up on the offer. And he's happy because I'm happy I'll see Scott sooner than I'd thought. I told him he doesn't need to get me anything else for Christmas this year. ^_^
Is it destiny when things align so perfectly to let your dreams come true? If I could see exactly where the conversation was going, does it mean these two have no free will? Of course not. I'm just damned lucky to have such a wonderful father, and awesome boyfriend. And if I had any less faith in Scott's feelings, or in Dad's willingness to carry through his invitation, I probably wouldn't have arranged this strange "Scott-AIM-Meagen-Dad" conversation. So it's thanks my good luck and ability to grab a chance with both hands and not let go that I'll be seeing Scott almost half a year earlier than I'd anticipated. ^_^
(In case any readers are worried: Yes, the both of us will still be coming to A-kon. In fact, it's much more likely my parents will let me go if they know that Scott is a real and wonderful person.)

Well, here I am.
Started out from home at noon on Friday, in the family car. We got to Wroclaw just in time to catch the bus at 4 PM. Said goodbye to mum and boarded. We rode south trough Gremany and to Switzerland (sidenote: the bus made pitstops in exactly the same places it did three years ago, when I went to France with Magnesse. It gave me a serious deja vu.) Made aforementionned stopover in Zurich, then boarded another bus.
This was a Spanish one, headed home by way of Montpellier. They showed us several movies, all dubbed in Spanish (Worse than French dubbing, but not as bad as Polish) so it was easy to tune them out. Because of lateness on the part of other busses (and some Spanish passengers bickering because they wanted to have the better seats), some stops were longer than they should've been. (We spent a whole hour in Geneva, and we couldn't even get out of the bus...) All in all, we arrived in Montpellier pretty late.
But I'm here. With my lovely and loveable sister Ann, her husband, their kid, and assorted friends, family and pets. The house is nice - nothing like a little pool in the garden to keep cool in the Mediterranian summer. ^_^ They're connected through AOL and a modem. Not very fast but could've been worse.
I'll write more when something happens.

Hey folks! Posting from a Net Cafe in Zurich. The keyboard's all weired (QWERTZ?) but at least the resolution is high. My time's almost up, so just wanted y'all to know I'm alive.

It's proably not a good sign when you feel homesick before you even start a trip. I don't want to go... Or maybe I'm just feeling depressed because I'm going somewhere that is not Texas. Scott advises me not to be afraid of having a bad time, but determined to have a good time. I'm trying to do so, I really am.

I'm leaving.
I'm going to visit some family in France. Tomorrow. Did I mention that? No? Well! It seems I have little need for blogging recently, since all my thoughts, smiles and dreams go into long AIM conversations with a certain someone...
Anyways, I'm adding some links to comics I'm reading. I'll be using my blog as a link list when surfing from foreign computers. I'll try to write some posts, too. Now excuse me while I record my MP3s on cassette...

Yay! Another pointless test! ButI'm putting it up anyway 'cause the picture's cool. The text could use anti-aliasing, but it's a nice picture.
