Watashi no sei ja nai wa.

Satudray evenings are always a strange, strange time. On Saturday afternoon, Miz, Egon and me go to the weekly Manga/Anime meeting. There we talk face to face to face, get moral support from each other, straighten out and clean up whatever issues have been between us in the past week, and create a whole bunch of new issues that will stand between us for the following week. It's about as odd as it sounds.

I think a very important point is that when we meet, we feel so good just being in each other's compagny that whatever follows simply has to feel worse. Sometimes it's only worse in a "where has that wonderful feeling gone" way. Sometimes it's worse in a "oh great, now it's all over for sure" way. This Saturday things went wrong in a major "it's all over" way.

I won't go into details. Suffice to say, Miz wanted some time alone and didn't say so, instead following us around. This lead to a very ackward emptiness which Egon and I tried to fill at any cost. Then things were said that should not have been said and mouths were opened when they should have stayed closed. Eventually Miz went one way and the two of us went the other, leaving enough issues between us to last at least a month.

And now I read a post on Miz's blog which, after passing through the appropriate filters, reads: "I'm tired of real people and want to go back to my own fantasyland for a while." Which is fine by me.

The problem with Miz is that she thinks that admitting her true feelings to us makes her less perfect or some such crap. I find it much easier to just tell my best friends, "I don't want to talk right now, leave me alone", when I do, and "I need to talk to you now" when I do. Yeah, it's selfish, but it avoids the confusion.

Well folks, after all this time, I finally got a makeover in my room. New paint, new carpet, some new furniture, the works.

The most "new" element is the bed, which is one of those fold-up-into-a-closet types. When folded, it makes the room a lot more spatious. Enough that I even managed to fit a whole closet in the corner - howbout that, huh? ^_^ No more running to mum's room in the morning for clothes! The best thing about the bed, though, is that my good old spring matress fit it. For a while I was afraid I'd have to leave it for the really lame single layer of cloth-wrapped sponge that came with the bed.

We tossed out the old bookcase, a nice-looking white affair that unfortunately had such glaring gaps in it that it may well have been assembled by two druken middle-aged men (Mostly because it was. Don't ask.) There goes half of my sticker collection. The other half is on my desk, also white, and also being given away.

Anyway the new furniture is all from the same set, in a nice wood color. I gotta go put my books on the new shelves now - see ya!

Mizuumi-chan: I hope you like the burgers I ordered for the Ereb Royal family. The Ninja Burger is for Hesperia, the double for Hypnos, the Samurai Chiken for Morpheus and Tanatos, and the Junior Burger for little Yume-chan (even got her a small Coke!). I hope Hyppie doesn't mind that I billed it to his credit card. ^_^

Happy New Year everyone.

You know, I used to think the best way to spend New Year's Eve was to sit all evening at the computer, surfing, watching Anime and listening to Beatles, open a new bottle of Coke at midnight and watch fireworks through the window. Now, however, I found an even better way: All the above plus Mizuumi-imouto-chan. Then New Year's Sleepover. Not much more to be said here.
