Sunday, July 28, 2002 I hate having a good sound memory. I mean, there I am, looking through a CD of Anime ops and trailers I borrowed from Imouto-chan (hugs!), and the moment I first heard the 3rd opening of Slayers, I immediately thought "Hey, I remember that! It was in some Kami!". So then I dig through my Kamishibai stories archive, trying desperately to remember what was the story in which I heard it. Or at least what was going on in the picture. Finally I stumble upon "Crinsim Warriors" (yes, that's the spelling) in which the MIDI called "soul_stone's_work.mid" sounds kinda, but not quite, close to what I remember. Must be something about the instruments being mixed up in WinMe. Okay, but I found it, and all's well. Until I look at the second Slayers op, and "Give a rason" sounds hauntingly familiar again. And I just know I won't be able to rest until I find it. Argh. Well I finally dug up Meg-chan's old and long-forgotten Kami series "WT Saga" and behold, in the fourth chapter, "giveareason.mid". (Meg has a very nice habit of naming the MIDs after the original songs.) But it sounded nothing like it, again. So I fired up a really old program called "Music Sculptor" (I think I got it from Shael on the old Kami forum) and loaded the MIDs into it. Lo and behold, they sounded just fine! So, taking care not to change anything (because then the program resets all instruments to "Piano", for reasons unknown) I selected "File -> Save". And it worked! The fixed Slayers tracks have been added to my collection of MIDs. From now on Music Sculptor will be known as... The Betterizer (TM)! I'm gonna see if it works on some of my other screwed-up MIDs, too. It's the long-forgotten Meagen's Webcomics Corner! Doctors: He'll die within the year. A year later... Doctors: He'll die within the year. A year later... Doctors: He'll die within the year. A few years of that later... Doctors: Okay, this time we're pretty sure he'll really die within the year. Just got word of the results of the college exam. It was for both Maths and Computer Science, there were 30 problems with 3 yes/no questions each. You had to get all 3 questions right to get a point for the problem. Your score is (number of promlems solved).(number of questions solved). I had 14.68 out of 30.90 points, admission for Comp Sci starts at 15.58. Meaning if I had just gotten one more problem right I would've been home free. As it is I have a guaranteed place in Maths, and I'll most likely get on Comp Sci because there are always people who make the exam but decide to study someplace else. A przy tym wszystkim nawet sie nie pocalowalismy. Dziwne, nie? Nadal jako jedyny "kontakt" z chlopakiem mam tego buziaka, ktorego dalam A. niby to zartem, i te kilka usciskow Egona... Nadal zycze wam obu wszystkiego najlepszego. I oboje macie zawsze moje wsparcie, razem czy osobno. Apparently I haunt people in their dreams. O_o Or was that the work of one of your people, Imouto-chan? (We have a running injoke that Imouto is the high priestess of Hypnos, god of dreams, and mother of two of his 1000 sons and one daughter. Yes, we're weird people.)
