Remember, if you have half as much fun reading this as I had writing it, that means I had twice the fun you did!

Wednesday, June 19, 2002 Aforementionned episode was seen, enjoyed and recored for later One episode was particularly exciting. It started with Ran and Kogoro getting suspicious about Conan. He had told them his parents were abroad, which was not really a lie, since Shinichi's parents really did leave him alone to fend for himself. Of course, Shinichi was 17 while Conan looks about 7, so it would be a bit strange in his case. Anyway, as if on cue some fat lady with the most absurd glasses walks in and says she's Conan's mother! He is shocked, of course, since he doesn't remember knowing her at all. Ran and her father see him to the lady's car and wave as they drive off. Ran thinks she'll miss Conan. As they drive off Conan asks the lady what the deal is, since his mother is actually... "Yukiko Kudo, the famous actress!", the woman finishes for him, and pulls out a gun. Conan manages to escape, but it seems the criminals who've given him the poison are on to him. Apparently, they plan to murder someone else using the poison... In true Detective Conan fashion, the ending is a great surprise (although I kinda saw it coming... let's just say the German episode titles can sometimes be major spoilers!) Tuesday, June 18, 2002 Oooh... Today's episode of Detective Conan was part one of a two-parter. Conan was very sick and suffering... And the preview for the next episode showed Shinichi, in the flesh! I sense favourite episode... :)~~~ Oh yeah, and Heiji Hatori (Shinichi's rival, a high school detective from Osaka) was introduced. He's cool, kinda. But Shinichi's still better.
Added a new link. It's the Really Big Button that Doesn't Do Anything! It's really amazing.
Saturday, June 15, 2002 Ugh. What a hellish day. I woke up about 11:30 and phoned my Imouto-chan. We've been meaning to get together today after what was been a tiring week for us both. We agreed to meet at three PM in a particular spot in town. And Mizumi asked for her manga back. "Manga? Uh, sure, no prob!", I said and hung up. Then I rang up another of my friends to whom I had lent the aforementionned manga and arranged to come by immedaitely and pick it up. I washed, got dressed, et a bit of breakfast and was on my way just after midday. My friend lives on the other side of town, about 40 minutes by bus. By the time I got back it was half past two. By the time I gathered up cool stuff to show Mizumi-chan, it was ten to three. At three minutes to three, I got on the 82 bus line. My plan was to ride down to the fast tram line, which is the quickest way into town, and catch another tram by Theatre Bridge to where I was supposed to meet Miz. Unfortunately, I began reading the manga I was going to give back, and rode quite a way past the right stop. It was too far to walk back. I had to get down, cross the street and wait about 15 minutes for a bus back. I finally got to the tram and waited another ten minutes or so. Then at Theatre Bridge, you guessed it, I waited some more. Then I had to walk. (There are very few stops downtown. Wherever you're going, chances are you will have to walk a certain distance to get there.) Bottom line, I arrived at ten to four, almost an hour late. Naturally, there was no-one there. I waited for some time, just in case Mizumi had gone off somewhere and was going to come back. Then I decided the best thing to do would be to go inside the Empik bookstore (we'd arranged to meet on its doorstep). I read some manga and phoned Mizumi's home from my cellphone until she came back. Then I apologised for being late, and told her I was going to see her at home. I rode the fast tram again, this time to the far end of the line, and after a ten minute's walk got to Mizumi's flat house. There was a small problem. I had been to her flat only once, and that time she went out to greet me at the tram stop. I'd been so busy talking to her I didn't quite notice which storey her flat was on. I remembered how it was located relative to the lift, but not its number. And I couldn't quite remember if I ever got Mizumi's last name. I though I'd just phone her and ask. However, the phone was occupied. For the next hour or so. I tried really hard to remember the one time I'd been to Mizuumi's home. It had 9 stories and a lift. The buttons in the lift were arranged in two columns, even numbers on the left and odd ones on the right, bigger numbers higher. I vaugely remembered that the number was in the left column, and not particularly high. I spent the next hour riding the lift up and down, re-visiting each floor between the 3rd and the 7th about three or four times, tring desperately to remember more details of the last visit, and phoning again and again, to find the line busy every time. Two or tree times I exited the building and sat down on a bench outside, wondering what to do next. (I entertained the idea of sounding a fire alarm and catching Mizumi out of the crowd of people to ask her which storey they lived on and why the damn hpone was busy for so long.) Some kindly people noticed my not-in-the-least-methodical searching, and asked me who I was looking for. They knew where a girl named A*** lived - one told me the 5th, the other the 8th floor. The 5th floor I'd already checked, and while the 8th floor looked kidna familiar, no-one responded to the doorbell. Besides, I was quite sure it hadn't been that far up. Finally, the phone rang. "Hello, is A*** there?", I asked. "No, she just went out", was the answer. For the love of Lennon. Well, no reason not to go along with the original plan. "Um, which storey do you live on?" Which, of course, had been the topmost button in the righthand column. My ability to memorise details is a great gift, too bad someone else seems to have gotten it instead. I did go up there and left Miz's manga and two diskettes with the cool stuff. Then I walked some more all the way to a bus stop where I waited for about five eternities (or ten minutes) and finally got back home. Next time, Imouto-chan, just come over here to my place. Or get a cell phone. Sunday, June 09, 2002 21 I act like I'm 21. Posted 7:27 PM . You gotta problem with that? Pepsico began merchandising Mountain Dew recently. I bought some, and it was quite good. Now I have two alternate caffeine sources. This morning I bought a bottle of Coke and a bottle of Dew, and I'll be drinking one or the other in small glasses. Mizumi-chan is an Evil Genius too. Muahahaha!!! Join me, and together we will rule the Galaxy as Onee-chan and Imouto-chan! >:D

Wednesday, June 05, 2002 Tired... So tired... shouldn't be up at 2 AM. I've invented a catchphrase. Foreboding of Imminent Doom and Brutal Flaming Death! It shall now be used instead of the shorter, but cheesier "Da-da-da-DUH!". Lack of sleep messing with mind. Must sleep now. Ah, feels good to be blogging again. :) So, what's been up. In short: matura (final exams of High School in Poland), which went quite well on average. Oral English 95%, written English 99% baisic, 93% advanced. Maths 98% baisic, 63% advanced. Polish and Comp Sci not quite as well. I still need to get through the college entrance exam, but that's not until July 7th. I love my Imouto-chan Mizumi. ^*^ RTL II, the german AniCrack dealer, began airing Detective Conan some time ago. Brilliant (and cute) high school detective Shinichi Kudo overhears dealings of secret crime syndicate. Is knocked out and force-fed experimental poison which should kill him without a trace. Poison melts his bones or some such gross stuff, leaving him looking like little boy (but still cute). Goes undercover in this new form and calls self Conan Edogawa (after A.C. Doyle and some Japanease crime story writer). Is taken care of by Ran Mouri, his girlfriend, unaware of his true identity. Discreetly helps father of same, Kogoro Mouri, private eye, in cases. Friendly scientist "in the know", Dr. Agasawa, designs Bond-like gadgets to help, including wristwatch that shoots miniature sleep darts, voice-changing bow-tie, and power-kick shoes (Meagen's personal favourite gadget ^_^). Check out Detective Conan in the random links to find out more. I've always been fond of detective stories (practically learned English on Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie), so I immediately liked this series. Shinichi is sooo cute... I got a lovely wallpaper from edowagaconan.com, of Ran holding Conan in her arms and Shinichi in the background. In the series they often show Shinichi floating ghost-like behind Conan. In other news, I've become involved in the Lord of the Rings fanfiction movement. Particularly in something called the Protectors of the Plot Continuum. Saving the Tolkienverse from Mary Sue and her ilk. B) In other other news, there's a new forum on Otaku World, and Shael has already gained the status of Ultima Otaku (1000 posts) by doing what he does best, that is, posting a lot in various topics and creating a new running joke (the Kamunism movement). He said something about running for a custom title (MiNT Otaku, he calls it). I barely got to Otaku (50 posts) myself. And my scanner hates me, so the new version of CSM will ne somewhat delayed. Damn it, why did I bother with kyara design? I could've just made some minor adjustments to the existing pics to make Lucas look like someone completely different and call him Radoslav. Geez... -_-' Oh, I'm 10% lesbian. O.o this looks like the work of... Mizumi-chan! Or maybe Nekono (her evil side). Or maybe 'cause I said I like to flirt with girls... (Which I do, just to mess with their minds.) Posted 2:01 AM . You gotta problem with that? Tuesday, June 04, 2002 Hello again, all you people in blog-land! I've been down with a bad case of RL syndrome, but I've worked it out okay. I've moved the blog back to blogspot because Yahoo cancelled FTP for free accounts. Updating the site is a bit harder, but possible ^_^ You might notice the lack of Beatle lyrics and the new Bishouen of the Moment section to the left of this site. Also, the comics section has been updated to reflect my current tastes in comics. So, yeah, that's about it for now. |
