Important note: RIP George Harrison (1943-2001). I can think of many things I want to say in relation to this, but I'll save that for tomorrow.

Yeah, but for me taking care of my hairstyle is not a top priority. I blame my computer and the Net really. For instance, I had gym class today and my hair really needs washing, but it is now 10 PM and I'm still sitting at the computer typing this post.

November 30th today, which is St. Andrew's Day! Over here it's said to be a good day for divination. Or at any rate, the last time to get together and have some fun before the Advent starts. Why not try some of these methods and see if you can get an A in Professor Trelawney's class? (WARNING, some of those may sound or look a bit silly.)

Wax pouring is the most common custom associated with St Andrew's Day. Collect some old candle-ends from around the house and melt them down in a pot until they form a uniform liquid. Pour a lot of cold water into a vat, then let a person pour the wax into the water through the hole in a key. wait 'till the wax shape cools and hardens, then pull it out and place it between a burning candle and a blank piece of paper. Turn it about and see if you can guess what its shadow represents.

Modern version: Not many people keep candles in the house these days, so you'll have to go out and buy some. Or dive into Dad's "romantic evening" stash. It might also be a bit hard to find a key with a bit enough hole. Look around cupboards, drawers and old doors. In a pinch, you can make a "key" shape from alluminum foil and pour through it. Also keep in mind that there has to be enough wax for everyone, but not so much that the pot is too heavy to lift.

The shoe line is quite suspenceful, although you need a bigger group for it. Each maiden takes off her left shoe, then the shoes are placed in a line from the far end of the room towards the door. The line is then moved forward by taking the shoe from the end and placing it at the beginning of the line, same with the next shoe and so on. The maiden whose shoe crosses the porch first will be the first to marry.

Modern version: Since we live in times of equal rights, there's no real reason why men shouldn't be allowed in. You can also change the "marry" to "get a boy/girlfriend", as long as all those playing are free. (Otherwise what little point there was is lost, now isn't it?)

Name-picking is a lot of fun at a small expense. You can have a bag with names written out on small pieces of paper, lottery-like tickets or anything you like. You can also cut out a big paper heart and write names on one side then let the other person pierce it with a needle from the blank side. The idea is that the name that the person chooses is that of their future soulmate, so have separate bags/boxes/paper hearts for male and female names and let everyone pick according to gender and sexual preference. (And ban from the game anyone who already has a soulmate.) For more hilarity, write down the names from a really old calendar.

One last note for today: Lookie! I'm in Metal Gear Sonic 2! Well not really but that girl does look a bit like me. Kartho pointed this one out.

I have a new computer. It's an Athlon XP 1700+ (1400-something Mhz) with 256 megs of RAM, 40 GB hard drive, DVD x16, GeForce2 64MB w/ TV-Out, and several other gimmicks. I also got one of those flat monitors, 15". We had to re-arrange the office a bit, but I've managed to sort out all the cables and drivers and things, and now I'm out for blood. Muahahaha. Ph34r my n3w h4rdw4r3.

This is great. Now I can spend my time playing Black and White, Arcanum and the Tomb Raider series instead of studying for the most important exam in my life which I'll be taking this April. [Munkey Squad]Wait a minute... that sucks.[/Munkey Squad]

As soon as the MT stuff I ordered arrives, I'll be in geek heaven.

One of my greatest dreams is to become a geek (well, geek-ess) someday. I think I have the right kind of attitude for it; I prefer computers to people, I can only communicate through the Internet, I tend to leave a mess everywhere and I pay little to no attention to my outside looks.

As to looks: I'm not male or fat, but I'm thin and pale and thus have that anorectic look that speaks of days spent at the keyboard. Actually I'm grateful for the thin part, I can eat all the chocolate I want and it never goes into my hips. (It does go to my face, though. As in, I get really bad acne. Must be something about the grease or something.) I also tend to wash my hair only once or twice a week, so it often looks all greasy and dirty and stuff.

Genetics have also been fortunate for me, I'm the daughter of two engineers. I just need to learn the C language and the Unix OS and I'll be halfway there.

[blows a rasberry at Alex] Yup, Ralphy's fine, Lucipher isn't dead (just resting), and Yuken got but a small part of what he deserved. I hope Meg has more painful things in his future. I like watching bad things happen to those so cool, so suave villains...

I mean the devil boy in the last panel. His clothes don't look like what Piro usually draws on his characters, but they look a lot like what you usually draw on Lucas. Hence when I saw this strip, the phrase "additional kyara design by Meg-chan" came to mind.

Working on Polish. World War II poetry.

Our teacher said something along the lines of "It's weird studying WWII when WWIII can be right around the corner". But I can't help thinking that it won't be so bad. The worse thing Bin Laden can do is nuke everyone off the face of the planet. Even if terrorists overrun America, they'll just give everyone a choice between a quick conversion to the "one true faith" or a bullet to the head. They won't hoard them into camps and slowly, using torture, work and starvation, kill every last bit of humanity in them.

Muslims are in the Middle Ages of their history right now. They're dedicated fanatics all right, but when it comes to inhuman cruelty you just can't beat civilised white people with a likely-sounding theory to back them up.

Meagen's Webcomics Corner update!

Additional kyara design by Meg-chan.

[Neopets]

The Wheel of Excitment sucks.

I sat for 2 hours and earned 10 000 np (how? heheheh, that's my little secret) and then had to spend it all on Flat-u-Less Tablets. Okay, actually I earned 30 000, but I bought a Cirrus and invested in the Stock Market, and I'll probably gain some np from that. But still, I'm 9400 np poorer and it's all the fault of that Wheel.

And that's the third time this has happened. I'm not playing that stupid thing anymore.

Thank you for reading and for the encouragement. ^_^

No, I don't think so. You mentionned people misunderstanding your characters, using them without permission or giving you credit, putting them on shirts and making them act OOC. Snide remarks are a new one.

You may have not read Utena, but you obviously recognise the refrence... And anyway the whole "whoever wins gets the mellow guy/gal" thing is pretty close. (On a side note, my imouto Mizumi-chan once said I'm a lot like that Rose Bride girl. In looks, not behaviour.)

Carter's annoying. In a similar way to Shinji but a lot more. I've got nothing against him, it's just that he's an annoying bugger. I know I could just stop reading your comic, but since it also contains Candra this is not an option.

(And about one of your older posts... Anyone who thinks Rukura should end up with Yuken is either psycho or Yuken. Which amounts to the same, really.)

[/blog responses]

I had this great idea for a LotM Christmas fanart lately. It's based on the permise that since Yuken is God's son, Christmas should be his birthday. The picture would show Raphael, Lucifer, Poya and Lian giving him presents.

Meagen's Webcomics Corner!

Rukura's the freaking' Rose Bride now?

Kick his ass, Candra. You know you want to. Oh, and Shinji Ikari is a strong, manly, self-assertive grownup compared to Carter.

Shoujo! Waiwai! ^_^

And so ends chapter 1. This week is omake week... I can hardly wait for chapter 2...

I haven't been blogging much lately. Not for lack of things to write about - there was the 1st November a while back (traditionally the day to visit the family graves and tidy them up a little). I celebrated my 18 birthday on the 10th with a great party where everyone hads lots of fun, which is just as well because I sure didn't. I saw a wonderful movie just today and there's a rant on Harry Potter and merchendising hanging around my HD somewhere.

But I just don't feel like writing. Between school and Neopets and Megatokyo and some other stuff, I've lost track of people's blogs a bit. And I don't suppose anyone reads mine anymore (except possibly for a certain Evil Minion on the lookout for vauge references to his Mistress the Queen). So I'll just write a bit about my Kamishibai series.

"Codename: SailorM!" has been on hiatus for some time, while I tried to figure out how to run the story without offending Meg-chan or Firefly. I've finally decided, as noted previously, to completely replace the AH characters with my own. I've already did the design. Lucas' replacement has given me a bit of trouble with his name, but I finally settled on Radoslav. Nice, Slavic, I'm-a-vampire-you-idiots kind of name. There's also a lovely yaoi couple called Sam and Mike. Sam is the dark-haired, feminine one (also a werecreature, but more on that later), and Mike's the tall manly one. Mike has green hair.

This will require some changes. The photo album (a.k.a. shameless re-use of Meg's artwork) will have to go. The hair dye joke can be applied to Mike, and I can mention that Sam isn't allowed to carry a sword because he tends to cut off everything around him, including his own legs. And I can bring back the "died hundreds of times, always came back in some way" joke, which Meg didn't like. (Inspired by Terry Pratchett's books... Vampires have so many weaknesses so it's easy to kill them, but a hundred years later someone drips a bit of blood in the wrong place and guess who's back?)

Anyways, be on the lookout for a short Kami introducing Radoslav on my website, and watch the Kamishibai Korner.

Quick post to let Meg-chan know:

I'm re-writing all of CSM to completely replace Lucas with another demon. Holding auditions now, let you know whan I've decided. Lucas and AH will be listed as inspirations.
