Ow. Owowow. We've been in a park today with Mum and Gran and I remembered a tree I climed there once (I like climbing trees). I went to climb it again. Turned out I picked the wrong one which had those stupid thorns and they got planted in my left palm in 4 different places. One in the top piece of the first finger, one in the side of my middle finger, two near the base of the third finger, and one at the base of the thumb. Mum got a needle and tried getting them out - the one near the thumb went easily, but the one on the first finger was in a very sensitive area and it f**in hurt.

We haven't been able to get out the one in the middle finger. And there's some swelling near it and it hurts constantly.

I'm just lucky it's my left hand. Owowow. [jabs a pin into her finger trying to remove the blasted tiny thing].

Well that's a relief. ^_^ Actually I was just kidding around, but I have been getting kinda dirty-minded lately, and reading your blog was one of the reasons.

Technical difficulties. I sympathise. I think I'll be getting my own pretty soon, 'cause today in gym class I folded in two with pain. Funny, I don't even remember swallowing a hedgehog whole...

I think I'll go and have a peek at the Goblet of Fire some day. If only to see how they did with the Sphinx's riddle...

The Polish version of "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" is being released at midnight CET on Friday night. Can you picture those lines? I knew you could. Thankfully, I already have the English version.

What exactly is he miming with that middle finger? O.o ACK! Dirty mind! Bad image! Won't go away! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT, MEG!!!

Zel's not bad, and quite cute in a Ryoga sort of way, but Xellos is much more adorable. I really can't explain it. The way he pops out of nowhere and annoys people, the way he says his catchphrase, the way he gave Lina a "kiss"...

Zel and Amelia are a cute pair. On Tuesday there was the episode where they get to Sailoon and find out that Prince Phil has been killed. In the evening, Lina and Amelia are in the library and a mysterious figure appears in the window. They scream, and Zelgadis rushes in calling "Amelia!" and blasts the guy. I just loved that. All he needed was a tux and a mask. ^_^

That does need a grain of salt in it. My recepie for human contacts (one of the things the Internet has taught me) is: Be nice to people, and if they're not nice to you, BLAST 'EM!!!

Yesterday was my birthday. I'm now 18 - which is just enough to drink or drive legally.

And poor Egon's HD went kaput and he lost 6 GB of his personal files. Poor guy.

And I'm updating my site and adding two more comics links here. And that's about all.

Ah, thanks. [glances at Lucas on couch pic] I guess I'll have to re-do this. Too bad, I think the couch came out quite well. And that's not a conspiracy, that's a freakin' supernatural occurence! (or a technical failure, whichever works.)

[looks with indifference at yaoi fanservice] I like Luci. Before I think I'd have voted for Poya, but right now Luci gets my vote on the poll. I still like Poya, mind you. I think I'm going to draw some fanart... Luci in the sky with daimonds... how's that sound? :)

PS. Xellos is adorable and ultra-cute.

Seems like bloody stupid blogger didn't publish my September 13 post. I haven't been in the mood to write since then, but I've got a few things to note just to ensure the hypothetical readers that I'm not dead yet.

real life: There's been a trial of the new matura, an exam which I'm supposed to take in April. I still need to study for it. The frame of my glasses broke near the nose and I've patched it up with sticky tape until I can get a new pair done. I've managed to talk Egon into a more-or-less friendship. Life is pretty much normal.

Slayers is on Polish TV, translated title "Magiczni Wojownicy" (Magical Warriors O.o) It's in Japanease with a guy reading the translation, so you can still hear the original voices. Two episodes every weekday - meaning they're on Slayers Next now. I don't see what the big deal is about Zel. No more bishouen than any other bishouen, and there's nothing special about his voice either. Xellos, however, is a different matter entirely - he's just too adorable in his own irritating way. Why do I like him so much? Sore wa himitsu desu! (Which more or less translates to: bugger if I know)

Goury is just cool. ^_^ I pretty much like all of the cast, which is a good sign. But the end sond (the one with the words "Kujikenaikara, My heart") is driving me nuts. I know I heard that in MIDI in some Kamishibai... It was one of the older ones... it was in the Author's notes... But I can't remember where. Argh.

I've read your comments on this doodle. I just have a description that says "dragon tatoo on left arm" -_-'. Head up... I can do head up, but then you would just see the tail peeking out of the sleeve, and it would look like a squiggle or random line or something. (And I had this weird idea to have it change expressions along with Lucas, too.) Maybe if I gave the shirt a really large collar slid down one shoulder... hmm... (ponders)

Since writing the above I did a doodle like that with Lucas on a couch. The couch is brown (leathery brown) and my History teacher, upon catching a glimpse of it, asked me if I'd been drawing a liver. [gigglefit] I'll scan it up soon.

I've still got some e-mail to write. One to Meg-chan, about CSM and Lucas (I already wrote one but I don't think she got it). [injoke] And I need to write to the Supreme Queen of All That Is Evil, because I'm sure she's a nice girl really, unlike her minion. Yes, I am talking about you. Deal. [/injoke]

The attack on NYC is a great tragedy. America lost many citizens, and an important landmark, but it lost more than that; its innocence. Americans have found that burning their draft cards will not bring peace as long as there are others who don't want it. This is the end of the beautiful dreams of the 60's. I hope with all my heart that this won't result in xenophobia and an escalation of violence. I don't want another world war, just like all of you guys.

My warmest thoughts to all Americans.

I'm alive, I think. I managed to catch a cold right at the end of the holidays. Foolishly I still went to see Tomb Raider with Egon. It didn't get any better after this, as you might guess. My throat was the biggest casualty - I could hardy talk, and I sounded like an Anime character who got some highly dramatic disease. (In Anime, the first symptoms of most life-threatening conditions are extensive coughing, headaches, suddenly feeling faint, and insisting "I'm all right" whenever loved ones express their worry.)

I got my voice back now (the worst thing was being unable to sing along to Anime and Beatles songs ^_^). School's started and all that, bloody French again and it looks like a whole lot of work is before me (last year of high school, y'know), but I don't want to start bitching about it.

The start of school did seem like a good occasion to browse through some of my "No-name" notebooks. You see, I usually keep at least one notebok in my pack which is unlabelled, and use it freely to note ideas that come to me, draw little sketchy drawings, plan out my fics and manga, and sometimes keep notes on one subject or another if I forget the proper notebook.

Short pieces of writing, fanfic and Kamishibai projects long-forgotten, a re-design of my Mage Spirits universe (from its previous form to the one I'm currently displaying on my site), complicated graphs used to make sense of Questors (one starting with "Emi" in one box and "Megane" in the other has a conclusion: "Emi and Reiko-hime related? -> the same???"), the first few signs of a new alphabet which was supposed to be used in one story, song lists for recording my own custom casettes... And occasionally, one full-color picture made in pencil. I scanned in some of them for your viewing enjoyment. May I present...

Meagen's Random Sketches!

Girl wearing computer. I read about those new wearable PCs somewhere.

Sailor Andromeda in action! This is pretty good for me, as she's not SD and doen't look like a teenager.

A SD beefcake Dark Elf. I'm not too sure where this came from.

Kawaii [heart] Lucas-sama. That says it all, really. ^_^ It's an unfinished sketch for the new outfit he will be wearing in CSM from ep. 4 onwards. He looks a bit stiff, but in character. Note dragon peeking out from sleeve.

A little update on the love case mentionned here, noted and envied. My common sense came back from wherever it is that metaphisical personifications of one's personality fragments go. First she said "Oh boy", then sighed and glanced at the part that controls feelings and said "I'm not leaving you in charge for at least five, make that ten years". The problem which she was quick to point out was that while Egon loves me as much as a 16-year-old can love someone 2 years older, I like him a lot as a friend, buddy, chum and that's it. I felt very guilty, but after consulting the Wisdom of the Aincent Ones (I talked to mum) I am now more than ever convinced that I need to make this clear to him. He's great to talk to, and let's just keep it that way.

PS. Hey Meg-chan, the Kamishibai guild on Neopets is holding a fanart contest entitled "Which Neopet would your favourite Kamishibai character have?". The prize is a Strawberry Fields Forever paintbrush and you don't have to be in the guild to enter (just send the entry to me by e-mail). Hint: We need entries! We have a grand total of one and that is by Christiana who's providing the brush. ^_^

[very old blog for end of summer]

Dad came over from Morocco on Saturday, August 18 and the next Thursday we went to Berlin for one day, by train. I had to get up at four in the morning after only five hours of sleep. (For me, this is very little.) I couldn't sleep on the train becuase the sun had already risen and besides, it's too uncomfortable. I ate breakfast in the dinner compartment, followed by a Coke. Listening to Mum and Dad's fond memories of times thankfully long gone, I arrived at Germany's capital.

To get around Berlin, we walked and rode the S-Bahn. (An inside-city train, kind of like an overground Underground. Berlin has a subway too, it's called the U-Bahn.) First we went to see the cathedral and the Museum Island, and we went on a tour of the Pergamon museum. It's got exposisions of aincient Greek, Roman and Babylonian art. The audio guide is a really good idea.

At the entrance to the museum you get a kind of CD player with earphones, set to the language of your choice. (Mum got French and I got English.) Next to some of the exibits there are three-digit codes. All you have to do is punch one in on the small keyboard and press the green button, and you hear a very well done recording about what you're seeing. There was a man's and a woman's voice, both speaking British English clearly and with perfect diction. Mum said the French version was just as good; easy to understand despite the unusual vocabulary.

The German museum people also understand the need for humans to sit down every once in a while; benches and chairs were multiple throughout the exibition. In our museums, the only chairs are for the guards. Still, I was tired when we left at about midday. To my horror, I learned that the return train was at 7 PM.

To rest a bit, we went on a boat ride along the river. Listening to Mum and Dad's fond memories of times thankfully long gone, I sipped another Coke and watched the sights. Then we walked in the direction of Unter Den Linden street, and saw the Watch House. This was build at the Emperor's time as a watch house for his personal guard, then after 1918 it became a memorial to the victims of the first world war. In the 60's it became a memorial to the victims of both wars, and now is a memorial to the victims of both wars and the communist regime that followed.

A bare room, the size of about half a classroom, but taller, with a sculpture entitled Mother weeping for her dead son in the middle. It's in the heart of the city, near a major road, but inside it's as quiet as a mausoleum.

We saw the Academy and a bit further on, another monument. Entitled The lost library, it was made in memory of Hebrew books burned by Hitler's order. It's hard to find unless you know where to look for it (except at night, or so Mom told me). At first glance you might think the square was empty. At second glance, you will notice people milling around the middle, looking down attentively as if someone had lost their contact lense. As you walk up to them, you begin to notice what they're looking at: a thick glass plate is set in the pavement, opening into a dusty gray nothingness.

I satred down at my reflection in the glass for some time before Mum told me what was there. Finally I realised I was looking down into a small room filled with bookcases. "Sie sind leer", remarked a small boy from a group on a summer trip. Yes, they were all empty. Interesting how

Then we walked down Unter Den Linden. I asked a few times if I could pass out from lack of sleep and food in the middle of the street, but permission was denied. Finally we went to a restaurant for some lunch. I drank another Coke to go with it, but it didn't help me at all. I was so tired I didn't even react to a wasp which flew by and sat on me (or so I thought).

Then we took a bus, not the "city tour" bus but just a regular bus, which didn't have an audio guide but costed a lot less. We drove by the Brandenburg Gate, (listening to Mum's account of how you couldn't get within several yards of it once because the Wall was right behind it) and with some surprise, mum noticed Paris' Arch of Triomph beyond. As we drove closer I poined out that it was merely a photo and indeed, the whole Gate was covered with cloth on which was a life-size picture of the same Gate but with a different background. There was also a slogan, "Deutche Telekom - bringin the world closer".

Apparently, the whole thing was undergoing renovation and the sponsor thought of this amusing promotion. We looked back as we drove under it and couldn't help laughing - there was the same motto and the same photo of the Gate, and through it you could see Krelm.

Zoologishen Garten, everyone out! There was still some time left until the train, so we went shopping. Not too much since the prices are way too high, but still we got a few things which you can't get over here.

Like Digimon merchandise. I put down the horribly expensive stickers and sighed wistfully at the just-about-lifesize Chibimon (Demiveemon) plushie, the not-as-lifesize MetalGreymon plushie and the "your own Digimon" Digivice-shaped Tamagotchi... thingie. I settled for a chibi plushie of Patamon (I call him Patamon-chan). I had lots of fun in our Anime club pointing it at people saying "ph34r th3 k4w411 0n3s!". ^_^

Then we still had half an hour left so we went to a buffet and I was sick and tired of Coke so I had some water. The train arrived, we hopped on and happily went home.
