Friday, June 22, 2001 I'm feeling a lot better today, my head's fine and my nose is dry - well, as dry as it usually is (I have a permament sort of allergy thing and I always need to wipe it every half an hour or so). My temperature's back to normal too. Problem is, today was the end of the school year and I wasn't there. Mum phoned Magnesse so she could tell the teacher. Apparently when the teacher heard I couldn't come because I had a high fever she said, "So what?". Was she expecting me to drag myself into school and die nobly on her arms or something? I'm not supposed to be up yet, actually. Mom's due any minute now so I'll post this, turn the computer off and get back to bed. I hope I can get that update done by Sunday. Thursday, June 21, 2001 I got the Sgt. Pepper Lonely Hearts Club Band CD just two days ago! ^_^ [<--- is all happy and Beatle-fangirlish(* ] It's really great, I love all the songs. Except Within You Without You - that Eastern motif just doesn't go well with George. I liked him a lot more when he was the silent, manly one. [pointless aside] We saw a film in class once about Hindu sects that baisically said "Remeber kids, don't trust people who offer you 'peace of spirit' and other such gibberish if you surrender your wordly possesions and break away from your family!". It was intended to be objective, I think, but it was just confusing. Like it talked about the Beatles' support of the Maharishi guy, but the photographs that showed up were all pre-1966. It was unintentionally funny in some places. Like when the spokesman for some guru was asked why this guru says material goods are a no-no but owns forty-something Rolls Royces. She said something to the effect that everyone always asks about the Royces like it was something bad, that the guru if just trying to blend in with the capitalistic system and that everyone who says it isn't right is probably a Communist. [/pointless aside.] I already knew some of the songs from the Yellow Submarine movie (Like Sgr.PLHCB, Lucy In The Sky With Daimonds and When I'm 64). The outro of Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite sounds a lot like the background music for a Magical Girl's attack. I scared my mum a bit by telling her that one of the songs is about a girl who ran away (She's Leaving Home). With a Little Help From My Freinds is sung by Ringo so of course I liked it. Since yesterday I've been down with a bit of a cold. My throat feels dry and scratchy, my head hurts terribly and my nose won't stop running. I heroically tried to prepare the next update for my site in this sate. Although the re-organising of the Sailor Moon folder went well, I couldn't think of anything clever to write in the three new reviews. (Elements, A New Sailor Moon Story and, by special request, Ika Takozushi.) It didn't help my headache to boot. And neither did watching Wedding Peach (2:15 PM) and Digimon (4:30 PM) on German TV. They're currently on a re-run of the 02 series and today's episode was one I missed the first time around. I managed to get some sleep at about 6 PM. When I woke up the clock said half past eight and I wasn't sure if I had slept an hour or a whole night. I was feeling so rested that I thought it was morning already, so I switched on the computer to type this. Only then did I see the number 20:50 in the lower corner. O_o I'm going to listen to Getting Better now and hope it will come true. (* Not a real word but it should be. Wednesday, June 20, 2001 I had a funny dream last night. I was reading Animerica and they had a special on Angel Hunter. There were two full-color pics of Lucas, on one of them he was pulling a sword out of a stone, an on the other one he was waving it around and it was glowing and making those weird wiggly lines like in the X manga. (I don't own it but I know someone who does.)
Tuesday, June 19, 2001 Meagen's Webcomics Corner again today... Journeys Down Monday, June 18, 2001 The archives still won't show up, DAMMIT! Anyways. I just wanted to update my comics list and comment on the newest episode of Unicorn Jelly: "YES! We're evil! EVIL DAMMIT! D'you hear me? EEEEVIL! And to think Mom said I'd never get anywhere! [evil laughter]" Good morning, Good morning... |
