Saturday, April 14, 2001 The damn archive won't show up. I'll see to it later. Right now I'm having trouble with BOTH fcmail and Delphi (they load at about a byte a minute), so this is my only method of communication with the world. Happy Easter, everyone! Okay, mixed feelings here. Dad's come over from Morocco (where he lives and works most of the time. Mum met him there). That would be a good thing, except he only came because he's had a car accident. His left arm's broken and his side's all bruised. But the most worrying thing was the way it happened - he was driving and just passed out for a second, while being sober, well-rested and not feeling drowsy in the least. A similar thing happened to Granma some time ago (she passed out for a second in the lift) and it turned out later she'd had a heart attack. Update, Dad's been to a hospital and they found no traces of after-heart attack condition, but that doesn't make it any less worrying. What in the world could be wrong with him? Sure, he's not as young as he used to be, but even people growing old don't pass out for no reason at all. Okay, enuff the dark thoughts now. Frecklegirl, thanks for your kind words. And don't worry about your own You-Know-Who too much; my own Technically-Not-Quite-An-Ex-Boyfriend, last I saw him, not only has let his hair grow and is keeping it in a ponytail, but has also aquired a two-day's worth of beard. That was a major eye opener. (I thought there really was something about him, but as it turns out, what I foud attractive all this time were his looks.) It helped me a lot to think about him as nothing more than a friend. Speaking of "just a friend"... My pal Jake's been around again. Tall, blonde and handsome... Ack! [thwaps self] He's five years younger 'n me! He's five years younger 'n me! He's five years younger 'n me! He's.... Maybe Magnesse was right... The last time I told her about a guy I thought was cute, she told me I get crushes far too easily. Oo' I only said he was cute... Monday, April 09, 2001 First things first. Alex-chan, your birthday fanart is right here! With that out of the way... A funny thing happened to me today. I was walking down the street and these two guys were going the other way. As they were getting close one of them said "...that's a woman not a chick!". Apparently they were talking about me since the other said something like "uh, hi" while sniggering. I ignored them and kept enough self-control to burst out laughing when they were safely out of earshot. A woman, not a chick... It's the nicest thing I've heard in a while. Uh oh, ego trip. Catch y'all later. Saturday, April 07, 2001 Re: All that talk of how girls are.... Funny. I could tell a story just like Ribby's, except mine went on through my grade school and was mercifully over as soon as I set foot in high school. I remember in my grade school I was always the class outcast, beacuse I didn't care what clothes were in fashion and I didn't care what teen singers you were supposed to be currently in love with. And I was damn proud of it. I only cared for what cool new animated series was currently on TV. Once there was a class dance which I passed up on because I didn't want to miss Yattaman (70's anime, came here in Italian dub). And then, of course, there was Sailor Moon. I remember once in 7th or 8th grade I think a whole slew of 5th graders assaulted a friend and me as we were chatting, teasing us: "Sailormoons! Sailormoons! Lookame, I'm a Sailormoon!" And stuff like that. But by that time I knew the best way of self-defence; I just went on talking like they weren't there, and my friend soon got the message and ignored them too. That got them tired pretty quickly. Fortunately enough in my high school people are a lot more mature (especially our class, since we're now in before-last year) and while there's even more girls who are worried about their clothes and makeup and such, they're very tolerant about other people's hobbys. All my classmates know that I like the Japanease cartoon things, but no-one teases me about it. Friday, April 06, 2001 AHAHAHAHA!!!! I'm a genius!!! I figured out how to deal with the problem: I moved the whole blog to Geoshitties! (They've got a reallygood and fast-loading uploading system, too!) So the new URL is http://www.geocities.com/meagen_stuff/meagen.html Now why didn't I think of this sooner? Okay, this here's supposed to be the new layout, but Spree claims I don't meet the conditions to get a website (and they have the nerve to write "and if you still can't access your free web space, try one of these providers. Sure, they're not free, but they're cheap." ARGH! I have no way of paying, you stupid greedy bastards!!!), so for now they're hosted on my Yahoo "Bloody Stupid Won't Allow Direct Linking" Geocities account. Other than that, I have that female condition with many euphemisms. I like to call it "Technical Difficulties". I won't gross readers out with any details. Thursday, April 05, 2001 [Catches up on blogs] Ack! Ack ack ack! Alex-chan, great new layout! Although I'm worried that you might have caught something from Shael... Oh, and I have a birthday fanart for you, too... Something you'd never expect from Ms. Not-A-Homophobe-But-I-Just-Don't-Swing-That-Way, and out of character to boot. Meg-chan, great new layout too! [Glances at her Standart Default Cookie-Cutter Blog] Riiight. I've got some serious catching up to do. Lucas fangirls? Where? [looks around] [I'm Looking Through You cues in the background as she's just listening to a CD borrowed from Magnesse] Oh, and as to the whole good/evil debate, I don't know about naming but I don't believe in the Devil/Satan either. I agree that the only evil is in humans, but it's not because humans are evil. Rather, evil is needed as the alternative to good... Not killing people can only be good if killing is evil, see? You can't be good if you don't have a choice. That's what the story of Adam and Eve is all about. Choices. Firefly, great new layout third time! And [giggles] it's lucky you like Lucas again 'cause you're getting back together at the end of C:SM... Hey, you were still an item when I thought that bit up, and to borrow a leaf from your book, "I had this planned from day 1"! Okay, more like day 3... or maybe even day 5... But dammit, I still planned it that way so it stays. So there. Nyah nyah. [<----- Yes folks, she's that mature.] Frecklegirl, 1) I'm updating! I'm updating! 2) Shael got a blog? Scaaaaary! 3) [laughs] Yes, that does say a lot about Anime... "I hope they're not permamently dead". I believe Questors has reached the Critical Dead People Limit (TM), ie. so many characters have died that some will have to come back or there won't be anyone left to tie up the story... I mean, "And so all the nameless extras, who didn't star in this story and survived, lived happily everafter!". Or maybe Firefly will go with a Eva-esque "And so they all died, the end." But I hope that won't happen. In other news, my new puter's looming in closer. As opposed to my site update 'cause FCity won't give me Rebo's review images. And there's an icon in there, too! [kicks FCmail repedately] And don't even ask about Mythology. Could one of you blog folks please send SailorM vol.2 to OW for me? Just give me a post if you're willn'. For our English class we were told to make a project about dinosaurs. I made a Kamishibai type thing entitled "The return of the For some older overdue stuff read below. Tuesday, April 03, 2001 Newsflash! Meagen has just added Weaird Al Yankovic to her already-rather-long List of Things She Likes. It all started when poor old Elek the II (my computer) stared to go kaput at worryingly small intervals. So my mum's friend reccomended a guy she knew who was good at fixing 'puters that go kaput. So he came to look at my poor baby and performed several complicated operations (including cleaning up the thingy, rearanging the bits up there and putting in a new wossname). And to check if it worked, he needed a very memory-consuming task, like showing movie clips. He had brought a CD of Weird Al videos for that very reason. So I saw Amish Paradise, Jurassic Park and a few bits of I'm Fat. But the one I liked most was The Saga Begins, which I copied to my HD. And so Elek's in working condition again and I'm left listening to the following over and over again: ([?] means I'm not sure what that says) But their response didn't thrill us We took a Bongo from the scene Oh my, my this here Anakin guy Did you know this junk on slaves Did you see him hitting on the queen Well I know he built C3PO He was [?] and flying ace We started singin'... My, my this here Anakin guy Now we finally got to Couresant So we took him there and we told the tale Oh, the Council was impressed, of course Because Yoda sensed in him much fear He was singin'... My, my this here Anakin guy We caught a ride back to Naboo We all fought in that epic war And in the and some Gungans died And the Jedi I admire most And I was singing... My, my this here Anakin guy We were singin'... My, my this here Anakin guy He's got such a nice voice. ^_^ And he's dressed like young Obi-van in the clip. I like young Obi-van, 'cause of his long braid ponytail thing that gives him such an Anime-ish look. Anyways, I finally managed to detach myself from Usernet, and OW's condition is stable again. Plus, Rebo sent be 8 (!) Kamishibai reviews! You know what all that means, folks - an update on my site soon! (It's about bloody time, too.) Oh, and it seems OW didn't get my chapter 2 of SailorM. I'll have to send it again. And yes, I am letting them host my series. Why? Three reasons. 1) Dov and Stephen wrote to the Kami Forum and were all civil and stuff, 2) PayPal doesn't work in Poland so I need the free access if I want to keep reviewing stories and 3) Plain and simple, I want the publicity, for my story as well as my site.
