Shane McMahon news for June and July, 2001
July 14, 2001: The following is from RajahWWF.com:
A lot of people email me about Marissa Mazolla, aka Shane McMahon's wife, who as I reported a few weeks ago has resigned from her position as WWF publicist. For those waiting for confirmation, I'm still sticking by that story as I was told that she had her going away party a few weeks ago and is pursuing something different. And to address some internet rumors, Marissa is not pregnant nor is she headed for a divorce with Shane.
June 29, 2001: Shane was on Byte This! this afternoon, and it was very interesting. You can check it out at http://www.wwf.com/webcasts/bytethis/
By the way, I did get through...I was the one that got cut off. LoL! :) I was really happy to get to talk to Shane. Although, I didn't mean I wanted to actually buy the jerseys he wore at the PPV...although that isn't a bad idea. ;)
June 27, 2001: The following Shane mention is from the latest Ross Report:
I don't know if Shane McMahon
vs. Kurt Angle stole the show, but it's certainly going to be
hard to say it wasn't the best match on the card. It was very
uniquely laid out with some very unusual thing and extraordinary
spots. I think that in terms of risk factor, the bar was raised
as high as we ever want to go. But that's just Shane and his
desire to be the best at what he does. For someone that doesn't
have a lot of training or experience, he just does an awesome job
on big Pay-Per-Views.
June 27, 2001: Shane will be on Byte This! this Friday! Here is the advertisement from WWF.com:

June 25, 2001: I have read nothing but high praises for Shane and
Kurt on the match, and both apparently only suffered some
cuts. Kurt might need some stitches, but from what I heard
Shane is fine. Expect to see Shane on Raw tonight.
The August 2001 edition of Wrestling Edition has quite a few Shane mentions. I will type them up as soon as I can.
June 24, 2001: HUGE NEWS...or is it? RajahWWF.com is reporting that Marissa McMahon has resigned as WWF publicist to pursue a career elsewhere. This is *not* official, and RajahWWF.com is trying to find more information on the situation. When I hear more I will be sure to send it your way. Mary2178@aol.com sent me an email that she received from someone at Rajah who says that Shane and Marissa "recently bought an apartment in New York as well as a pet bulldog". Now, I am not big on spreading rumors when it comes to Shane's personal life, so I want to make it clear that *none* of this is official. However, I felt I should still post it since it was on a major news board.
In other news, according to WWF.com, Shane will be making a cameo appearance in the remake of the 1975 movie "Roller Ball". Paul Heyman also has a role in this movie which is expected to be released in mid-August. Mark your calendars!
Also, in the Ross Report, Jim Ross mentioned Shane, saying "Shane McMahon never seems to disappoint at these major events nor will he Sunday on Pay-Per-View versus Kurt Angle in a street fight."
June 19, 2001: Shane is on the cover of the July, 2001 issue of WOW Magazine entitled "McMahons Choke-Out Competition." I have the magazine, and I will scan the pictures and type-up the articles as soon as I get a chance.
According to the Ross Report, Shane has been training very hard for his King of the Ring Match against Kurt Angle. It is rumored that Shane is being trained by Al Snow for the match.
The following, from wrestlingdotcom.com sums up the press release that I posted earlier about the change in the WWF's E-Commerce division.
The WWF issued a press release regarding their internet division. It said New Media Division President Shane McMahon announced the following changes: WWF e-commerce efforts would be rolled into their Consumer Products Division to provide additional support and greater flexibility to meet market opportunities. Marketing support for WWF.com would be taken over by the Corporate Marketing Division. Shane McMahon commented that these changes would help the WWF consolidate their e-commerce business with their arena, catalog, and licensing sales. The release also mentioned that WWF.com attracted over 8 million visitors monthly. The site was listed as the most visited web destination for male teens worldwide and was the top provider of streaming video on the web, outperforming such sites as MSN.com and CNN.com.
Have you checked out WCW.com lately? It is jam packed with Shane pictures, quotes, and videos which would make sense, since Shane *does* own WCW, right? =P Here is what Shane had to say about Stacy Keibler, who will always be Ms. Hancock to me. ;)
"Hot! Hot! Hot!," is how Shane O'Mac described the appearance. "That was my gift to SmackDown!. The sultry, seductive Stacy Keibler."

June 13, 2001: I just wanted to make a note to all of you to be sure to watch SmackDown! I skimmed over the spoilers, and I found what goes on with Shane to be very neat. But maybe that's just from me being a tiny-bit of a WCW fan in the past. :)
June 10, 2001: I'd like to apologize for the down-time you may have experienced the past few days. Fortunecity crashed, but apparently things are up and running now. I know my updating has been sporadic, but please stay with me, school is over this Thursday, and I will have plenty of time this summer for updating and getting the new design going. :) With that out of the way, lets get onto a bit of news and rumors:
Here is a press release from the WWF:
STAMFORD,
Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 8, 2001--World Wrestling Federation
Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: WWF) today announced changes to
strengthen its ability to offer an integrated brand message,
provide better service to fans, and further enhance the web
experience that its WWF.com network has become known for around
the world.
Shane McMahon, President of WWFE's New Media Division, announced
that the company's e-commerce efforts would be rolled into its
Consumer Products Division to provide additional support and
greater flexibility to meet market opportunities. He also
announced that WWFE's corporate marketing group would take over
the task of marketing support for WWF.com, ensuring WWF.com
network promotion would receive greater benefit from overall
corporate marketing efforts. The changes bring the company closer
to its goal of establishing one brand marketing strategy and
message across all electronic and print media platforms.
"Having the resources of WWFE's Corporate Marketing and
Consumer Products Divisions more focused on WWF.com will bring us
closer to achieving our full potential within the Internet
business," said McMahon. "By combining our catalogue,
arena, licensing and e-commerce sales into one integrated
operation, we can be more responsive to our fans, improving sales
and better leveraging inventory. Support from our Corporate
Marketing Division ensures a more prominent and integrated role
in the company's overall marketing and advertising programs that
will drive more visitors to our site and make us a more valuable
buy for advertisers."
Currently, WWF.com is one of the most visited sites on the
Internet, attracting more than 8 million unique visitors per
month worldwide. It is the number one provider of streaming video
on the web with 8.4 million video streams per month,
outperforming such sites as MSN.com and CNN.com. The WWF.com
network has grown to more than 40 branded sites, making it the
most visited web destination for male teens around the world.
Stuart Snyder, President of WWFE, said the changes captured
synergies for the corporation. "As an integrated media
entertainment company, we are constantly looking for ways to
better serve our audience through improved integration, and to
capture synergies within the business to make us more effective
and efficient," said Snyder. "These changes for our New
Media, Marketing and Consumer Products Divisions fit with our
philosophy of maximizing our marketing and product sales efforts
through greater integration."
World Wrestling Federation Entertainment, Inc. is an integrated
media and entertainment company headquartered in Stamford,
Connecticut, with sales offices in New York City, Chicago and
Toronto. The company can be found on the New York Stock Exchange
under the symbol WWF and online at WWF.com and WWFECORPBIZ.com.
Keep looking out for the WCW Invasion. Names like Booker T and Jeff Jarrett are being thrown out for the PPV. A lot of people suspect there will be matches where WCW guys face WWF guys. Well, until next time, keeping posting in the boardroom. :)
June 2, 2001: There hasn't been a whole lot in the way of news. However, here is a little something about the May 31st SmackDown!:
Most of the crowd also spotted Shane McMahon at the back of the arena well before he did his run-in. I was sitting about ten feet away from where he started to run in so it was pretty cool to be that close to him. Also you could see when they were hauling off Shane that he obviously wasn't struggling to get free from security but you could see that he was walking backwards to keep up with the security.
Again, I am very sorry for the sporadic updating. School is almost over, so I am preparing for finals. However, after June 14, I'll be free for a couple of months and will have plenty of time for updating. :)
