Shane McMahon news for May, 2001

May 30, 2001:  I am very sorry about the lack of updating; I have quite a few pictures to get up, and I will try to do so asap.  I was checking out the boardroom and saw that a few of you want to start a petition for Shane merchandise.  Well, ask and you shall receive.  Check out the McMahon-Mania! For Shane McMahon Merchandise Petition.  Sign it, and get all your friends to sign it!  When the petition is at a decent size, I will try to forward it to the WWF!

May 23, 2001:  Well, it is quite nice to see Shane back on Raw.  There are a lot of rumors circulating about when exactly WCW will be relaunched and in what form.  Linda McMahon released a statement saying that the new WCW will be ready in 3-4 weeks.  Many sources suspect that WCW wrestlers will be "invading" WWF television within the next few weeks, which would lead to the PPV, "Invasion" putting Shane vs. Vince.  Also, stay tuned to the feud between Kurt and Shane; look for Vince to become involved, which may contribute to the Invasion PPV! I will have Raw pictures and SmackDown! (if applicable) this weekend! :)

May 8, 2001:  The June issue of WWF Magazine has a very nice article on the fued between Shane and Vince and includes lots of pictures!  I will have the article and pictures up no later than Friday. :)  Also, I am working on a new design for the site that I plan to unveil in the early summer, so look for htat. :)

May 4, 2001:  I haven't been able to get into Fortunecity, and still am unable! :(  Luckily, I am able to access the server through AOL, so hopefully I'll be able to continue making updates.

There is an article at WWF.com called Shane MCMANIAC; be sure to check it out, and yes, it does call Shane a McManiac! :)   Also, today's WWF.com asks:  "Is Shane a maniac?"  It's currently very close!  Only 50% of fans think Shane is a McNugget short of a Happy Meal. =P  Be sure to check out WWF.com and cast your vote!

May 2, 2001:  Again, major apologies for my lack of updating.  I have a lot of pictures to post, so I'll try to get on that as soon as possible.  Here is a round up of the latest news:

From Essential Wrestling Newsletter:
Road Dogg: I'm calling Shane O' Mac
Former WWF grappler Brian James (Road Dogg), recovering from
alcohol addiction says he's ready to return to our television screens.
"I'm thinking about calling Shane O' Mac and heading for the
new WCW," the 31-year-old explained in an interview yesterday.
"Without wanting to sound cocky, I think I can do something for them...
Shane has a good mind for the business." Despite fighting his
'demons' and going through a messy divorce the D-O-GG is keeping
in tip-top condition: "I've been doing some independent stuff,
I opened up a wrestling school just for six months to see how it would
go. It's going great!"

From www.top-rope.com , a excerpt of a summary from a TNN conference call with the Big Show on April 26:
Shane McMahon is one of his [Big Show's] closest friends in WWF and HHH and Undertaker are like big brothers to him. Because of Shane, this Sunday will be one of the better matches he's done.

The following is from www.1wrestling.com , April 28th:
I interviewed Shane McMahon on Thursday as part of a WWF Backlash Radio Tour.

Some of the highlights include:

- He may have something "special" lined up for the Big Show during their last man standing match. May try to tire him out.

-Put over X-Factor...especially Albert.

-Said a 24 hour wrestling channel would be hard to do but not impossible. Shane said that if it were to happen it would have to be like ESPN's Classics and include some very old footage...circa 50's and 60's as well as the newer stuff.

-All Shane said about WCW was that it's a rebuilding process, and he's glad that the talent that is out there now won't go to waste because of the failures of other promotions.

All in all he was pretty cool, very business-like.

From www.top-rope.com :

I was at Backlash last night, and got some frickin' awesome seats. I was the closest to Shane's fall (because I am hard-of-hearing/deaf, they moved me, and I was like 20 feet away from Shane, while the closest the other people would be around 24-28 feet away), the "Air Filter" (as it says on the wooden box thing, with the WWF logo and some wording under it, Stage 372, or something....), was 100% pure wood and Shane fell, he missed Big Show, but Show sold, because Shane was close anyway. The wood broke the second Shane's back hit it (his feet or butt hit it first, but didnt break, at least from what i remember....), and I saw that there was NO safety used. I leaned over the railing, and there was a padding about 2 or 3 feet deep inside the box. And the fall seems to be more like 15-20 feet drop, not 50 (from what I've been told) that the WWF says.

Also, WWF.com recently held a poll asking which Backlash match was the best. The last time I checked, Shane vs. Show had a dominant lead of 64%.  On that note, I'll talk to you all later! :)
