Shane McMahon news for March, 2001

March 31, 2001:  I think it's safe to say that April will start off with a bang tomorrow with Wrestlemania.  It's been a crazy week, especially with the WCW purchase.  Many sites are saying that Shane, in fact, will be running the WCW, as the current storyline has suggested.  Here are the latest news and rumors from around the web:

Shane took part in a WWF House Show on March 24. Here is what happened (from www.top-rope.com ):
"...While the ref [during the Stone Cold, Undertaker and Kane VS Triple H, Kurt Angle and Big Show match] is down Shane comes down and pounds on Triple H in payback for what Trips did to him on Thursday. Triple H was finally able to get up, he turned around and became a victim of the Stone cold Stunner. The ref got up and counted the 1, 2, 3 for Austin. After the match,Austin, Kane, and Shane and Taker all had beers. As we come to a close, Austin proposes a toast in honor of the Undertaker's birthday. "

From www.ultrawrestling.com :
"In fact, Shane McMahon, who will likely be given storyline control of WCW, will go on WWF TV and "raid" some talent, bringing underutilized or Shane-supported guys to WCW."

From www.prowrestlingscoops.com :
"Shane McMahon also stated that the WWF’s acquisition of WCW was a "logical brand extension." The WWF is looking forward to getting in there and taking over. Shane said that great things are in store and to keep tuned in. Shane said that before it was "anything can happen in the WWF," but now, "anything can happen in WCW." "

From www.wrestlescoop.com :
"In a somewhat related story, Booker T is the top name to appear with Shane McMahon as he takes on his father Vince at WrestleMania X-Seven this Sunday. I would suggest that's a bit premature, but very well possible legal-wise. More should be known on this story as WrestleMania closens."

From www.top-rope.com  (about Shane's busy Monday and Tuesday):
"Shane flew all the way up from Florida, where he was currently located due to
his Nitro appearance, to arrive in Detroit, Michigan at about 7:30 am without a
wink of sleep to make it to last night's Smackdown tapings."

From www.wrestlingdotcom.com :
"Shane McMahon will operate WCW as a separate promotion. The company will not run shows for six to eight weeks while a broadcast contract (most likely a Saturday night spot on TNN) is negotiated."

From www.ultrawrestling.com :
"The rumors I have come across is that she [Stacy Keibler a.k.a. Miss Hancock] may accompany Shane McMahon to the ring against Vince McMahon. However the most likely is for her to appear in the everything-but-confirmed WCW invasion. Whilst other reporters have printed a list of names that may possibly turn up backstage at WrestleMania with a view to appear on camera, Stacy is now a confirmation. She will fly out to Houston tomorrow."

March 27, 2001:  Didn't I tell you guys?  Last night, was simply amazing!  There are so many rumors going around now, it's hard to keep up!  First, I reccomend you check out the front page of www.WCW.com , where Shane has left a very interesting message!  Basically what everyone is saying that the WCW people like Shane, and that before Nitro Shane basically told them the WWF is currently evaluating the WCW talent.  Shane was well received by fans, getting one of the biggest pops of the night at Nitro.  Details are still very sketchy as to how this new alliance will work.  I will keep you posted.

March 26, 2001:  You definitely should look for Shane to pop up on Nitro, although probably you'll be able to see it on Raw because Shane will show up on the Titan-Tron, something like that.  I'm bettin' the farm on this one. ;)  Here is an interesting bit of new from www.PWTorch.com :

Shane McMahon headed up a pair of meetings - first with the wrestlers, then with employees who made the trip to Panama City, Fla. Shane told both groups that there will be job opportunities but couldn't say how many let alone who would be offered the positions. Members of the WCW legal team were also part of the meeting and thanked the groups for their hard work and patience during the transition.

March 26, 2001:  I apologize for the lack of updates, but Fortune City has been experiencing some technical difficulties which trickles down to me.  I am just dropping a note to remind you all to check out Nitro tonight.  There are rumors that Shane will make an appearance!  Oh no!  What am I going to tape?  Nitro or Raw? LoL. :)

March 25, 2001: From www.Ultrawrestling.com :

In fact, Shane McMahon, who will likely be given storyline control of WCW, will go on WWF TV and "raid" some talent, bringing underutilized or Shane-supported guys to WCW.

Also, here is what Shane said on Byte This! according to www.rajahwwf.com :

Shane McMahon was on WWF Byte This! last night and he said that the WWF’s acquisition of WCW was a "logical brand extension." The WWF is looking forward to getting in there and taking over. Shane said that great things are in store and to keep tuned in. Shane said that before it was "anything can happen in the WWF," but now, "anything can happen in WCW."

March 24, 2001:  Shane did an interview with a radio station in Tallahassee.  He talked on the WCW purchase and about Wrestlemania!  Check out http://top-rope.com/headlines/7807.htm for a recap; it's a very interesting read!  Also, check out Wrestlemania.com: Shane vs. Vince.  It's a great site hyping the Shane/Vince fued!

March 24, 2001:  Check out the Byte This! section of www.WWF.com , Shane made an appearance along with a few other superstars!  Here is a rumor from www.top-rope.com:

Look for Linda McMahon to "miraculously" pop out of her wheelchair and help Shane defeat Vince at Wrestlemania. The "sedated" Linda is set to be in Vince's corner, but I don't expect that she'll remain that way the whole match.

March 23, 2001:  The HUGE news of the day is that WWF has officially bought WCW.  You can read all about it at WWF.com.  Now, the last time WWF was rumored to buy WCW a few months ago, all the newsboards were saying Shane would take charge of the WCW part.  These rumors have again resurfaced.  I will keep you posted on this.

March 20, 2001:  A reporter from www.ProWrestlingScoops.com is at Raw tonight, and he noted that he saw Shane McMahon entering the arena.  That's always a good sign!  So, hopefully we'll get to see a 'lil Shane-O-Mac tonight!

March 18, 2001:  I was checking out the newsboards, and the latest rumor is that, at Wrestlemania, it will be Shane McMahon and Chris Jericho vs. Vince McMahon and William Regal.

March 16, 2001:  I received my Raw Magazine: April 2001 in the mail today, and the Raw Interview was with Stephanie.  There are some extremely adorable photos from the article which I scanned.  You can check them out in Gallery #4.  I haven't read the article yet, but I am sure it mentions Shane, so I will type it up as soon as I can.  Also, thanks to CityGirl4211@aol.com for this bit of information: According to WWF.com Extra, Shane went to Greenwich's Central Middle School.  I hope to have the Smackdown pictures soon! :)

March 15, 2001:  I personally haven't read the Smackdown spoiler, so I don't know if Shane will be on or not!  However, here are a few rumors from around the 'net:

From www.prowrestlingscoops.com:

With the recent return of Shane McMahon, expect Linda to come back to normal soon. We might see Stephanie and Vince take on Shane and Linda, if you remember the most disfunctional family times of the WWF.

From www.prowrestlingscoops.com:

Shane McMahon’s return on Raw last night, has signaled the intent in the WWF to keep the Vince/Trish/Linda angle going. This has injected some much-needed fuel into what was fast becoming a stale angle....With Jericho vs Regal rumoured as a WrestleMania match, other possibility’s now open up to be Vince + Regal vs Jericho + Shane with the IC Title on the line in a stipulation, or even a 4 way match, with the screwjob ending then also a possibility.

From www.wrestleboard.com :

Shane McMahon is expected to get heavily involved with his father Vince and Trish Stratus. At first it looks like Shane will be happy for Vince, respecting Vince's authority. An angle the WWF are toying with is where Shane and Trish will have a secret fling, with Vince eventually finding out about it. If this storyline comes into effect, the McMahon family war will really take off on WWF TV. When Linda is fully recovered, she will have some form of revenge on her mind, for suffering so much humiliation.

March 13, 2001:  I'm back! ;)  I was strolling the newsboards and came across a couple of interesting notes  One rumor, from www.top-rope.com,  is a possible match at Wrestlemania:  Shane and Linda McMahon vs. Trish and Vince McMahon!  Also it was reported at www.wrestlescoops.com by a fan that Shane-O-Mac got one of the biggest pops of the night.  If any of you hear of any good rumors, make sure to email them to me and where you got them from!

March 12, 2001:  Thanks to Mary2178@aol.com for sending me a message about a column by Seth at www.wwf.com .  He was going over some Frequently Asked Questions, the last one being "Where is Shane McMahon?"  His answer:  I have no friggin' idea.

March 11, 2001:  From www.wrestlescoop.com :

In the April 2001 edition of WWF Magazine the Informer reports that one of the McMahon family is in for a big surprise in the next couple of weeks and a superstar who hasn't been around lately will return. Many sources are reporting that Shane McMahon could be the superstar to return and help his mother, Linda, against this Trish/Vince angle. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet and should be taken as a rumor only. More information on this as more news is developed.

March 6, 2000:
Thanks to Citygirl4211@aol.com and www.top-rope.com for this information:

Shane McMahon (who is the president of new media for the WWF) recently attended a conference hosted by Jupiter Media Matrix. Other companies that attended the meeting were Playboy, ABC, Centerseat, and The Feed Room. The five companies, all of whom consider broadband a key component of their online strategies, divulged different approaches to generating Web revenue. Since online advertising has slowed for the WWF a bit lately, Shane announced that the WWF would be taking a slightly new approach to increase revenue at the conference.

March 5, 2001:  I haven't heard anything new about Shane's return.  As for Wrestlemania, I have a strange feeling about this whole April 1st thing.  There is no way the WWF wouldn't take advantage of having their PPV on that surprising day, if you smell what I'm cooking.

Thanks to Mary2178@aol.com for sending me this link: Backstage at the WWF.  Here are the portions mentioning Shane:
...I also pass Saturn (getting his stage makeup done) and Shane McMahon, Xeroxing something in the production office.
...Out in the loading area, Shane McMahon is standing talking to The Big Show, and The Undertaker is standing alone a few feet behind them...I am hesitant to approach Shane and The Big Show, because I don't want to interrupt their conversation, but I manage to walk up to them and smile. After a minute, they pause in their conversation and look at me. "Hi, I don't want to interrupt, but could I have your autographs?"
Shane smiles at me and says "Certainly." The Big Show signs first and as he goes to hand me the marker, it falls to the floor. Shane and I both bend down to get it. "I've got it," Shane says politely. Shane signs my book and asks, "What's your name?" I tell him, and he says, "It's very nice to meet you."  I walk away thinking, wow--he was so nice to me. As a matter of fact, out of everybody I encountered on my two-day backstage excursion, Vince and Shane McMahon were the nicest people I met.

Shane, what a charmer. ;)  You can read the whole article by clicking the link above.
