Shane McMahon news for February, March, and April, 2002

4.20.02 - Thank you to imshort316@hotmail.com for this information.

From WWF.com:

The Rock is traveling across the country -- and indeed, the world -- in preparation of the release of "The Scorpion King."

On Wednesday, he appeared at the premiere of the film in Los Angeles along with his wife, Dany. Arnold Schwarzenegger, George Clooney, Shane McMahon and many others also attended.

McMahon, in a brief telephone interview with WWF.com, said, "It was an honor and privilege to attend 'The Scorpion King' premiere. It was an awesome, feel-good action film. The people will be proud of their Rock."

From The Ross Report, at WWF.com

Vince and Linda McMahon, Shane and Marissa McMahon, Pat Patterson, writer Brian Gewirtz, marketing EVP Julie Hoffman and my wife and I attended the event representing the World Wrestling Federation. By the way, Marissa McMahon also has a role in the film.

4.19.02 - Thank you to my good friend Kim for finding this for me. Here is the info:

Marissa Mazolla-McMahon, the wife of Shane McMahon, apparently has a small part in the Scorpion King movie which hits theatres tomorrow probably because her father-in-law Vince is the executive director for the film. [Side note: Many months ago, I heard from someone who works for WWFE that Marissa had "resigned" from her position with the company. This person stated that Marissa was exploring other interests but would not specify what those were. I'm only guessing, but maybe acting is it?]

3.5.01 - Shane may not be around in the United States, but he recently appeared on the WWF's Asian tour. Here are a couple of Shane mentions:

From rajahwwf.com (thanks to Kim for this one):

Shane McMahon came up first and instantly got some real heat from the crowd....with the " asshole" chants. Shane had visibly put on some weight since his last wwf tv appearance.

From lordsofpain.net:

HERE COMES THE MONEY MONEY! Shane Mcmahon entered the ring only to get biggest heat of the night when he screamed "Shut Up!". He said he hates Malaysia and wasn't planned to be here (What?). He's here to represent his dad, Vince (What?). Shane then talked shit about Ric Flair (What?). The Nature Boy came to the ring and ordered Shane to get out from this place.
Instead, Shane stomped Ric Flair in the corner of the ring! however the 50% owner of WWF managed to counter and locked the Figure Four on Shane!( WHooo!) He then leaved the ring to huge pop. (Doesnt Shane and Steph the two who sold the 'share' to Ric? ohh this is just a tour, the marks get entertained, their job is done)

On a side note, I don't want to start any rumors, but hopefully Shane's weight again isn't a sign of some sort of emotional or health problem. I'm sure if it was, we would know...so don't get worked up over it, guys. :)

2.16.01 - Vince McMahon was recently on the Opie and Anthony radio show, and here is what pwtorch.com's summary of the interview said that Vince said about Shane:

They asked about Shane McMahon. Vince said he's on hiatus and is doing the corporate thing now.

2.2.01 - From what I understand, there is a very long Shane interview on the King of the Ring 2001 DVD. Someone typed up a portion of this (I don't know who you are...but if you typed this let me know so I can give you credit). I am assuming this is legit, and it is VERY touching. If anyone has this King of the Ring DVD and can varify that this interview is on there, please let me know! :)

Shane: Thank God, this is over 1,2,3. Unbelievable match, for me and for him when you are able to do that with another person you know that you have done the absolute best. You've both worked toward one goal. And, that's to entertain and have the best possible match for not only the fans, which is so important. But also for yourselves, for everybody in the back, for my dad, for my grandfather.

If you have a type of match like that, to go through that. You know Kurt and I now have a special bond. And, we have a camaraderie and a friendship that will never be broken because of that one experience. Unless you have that code of
the gladiator, unless you strive to have that excellence. Men are simple. You know it's like hey instead of saying hi to your buddy you'll be like what's up dickhead. That's like a better compliment then saying hey man I really missed ya.

We are simple creatures with very few drives. And, going through something like that is one of them. The standing ovation from the fans in the crowd that's what you do it for. And, then when you walkbackstage and you get that from your peers. That's the highest honor you can ever get. You know other then my father. The highest honor for me is having the boys say "Unbelievable Thank, you."

I start walking to the training room and there is my wife Marissa and she is just bawling.(They show a shot of Marissa sitting down w/ Shane standing behind her massaging her shoulders) You know, that's the other side of the business. That when you see that and what you have done hurts people. That was the only thing that I regret from the match. Is seeing her that upset and knowing that what I did cost her that pain. Because it's true. I can only imagine what she was seeing. Because I was a bloody wreck.

I was so bloody I looked down at my hands and I didn't want to touch her. Then when I looked at her I said "Baby I'm OK I'm gonna be OK." Then once she knew I was gonna be OK then she started crying even more.I was like "fewww"(sp) I wanted to hug her. But, I didn't want to taint her in anyway by putting a drop of blood or dirt or anything on her because she's the purist thing in my life.( Another shoot is shown of Shane and Marissa) After, that I said I'm OK she says "OK are you sure" I'm OK she goes "OK I love you" I said I love you too. That's tough.

Every time we go out there now imagine Undertaker or whoever it is out there in the ring. You have to remember they have children, they have wife's, they have mother's, they have father's and truly put yourself in that stand point. It puts things in perspective for you that that is somebody's son or daughter or whatever going through all that.

2.1.01 - If you have been watching WWF TV lately, you probably have seen the commercials for Rollerball, in which Shane appears. From what I understand, Shane has a cameo in the film.
