Shane McMahon News for December, 2000
December 18, 2000: Click on the following link Ultra Wrestling: More of Website Ban to get a more in depth analysis of Shane's "ban" of wrestler websites! The above news bit makes me think that the WWF is now going to own ALL the sites. Anyone have any opinions?
December 16, 2000: I typed up a transcript of the Shane story from Byte This! Thursday. It is pretty much word for word (yes...it was quite the headache to try and type). Anyway, here is the link: Byte This Partial Transcript. Enjoy! :) I will try and put the audio of this story up sometime soon! As for news, many sites are reporting that Shane has put a ban on wrestler websites; a wrestler's website must be run by WWF.com unless the site was in tact before he or she signed with the WWF.
December 15, 2000: Geez, the news just keeps right on coming the past couple days,
huh? I just got the January 2001 edition of Raw Magazine in the mail today. Here is a portion of Jim Ross's column, "Ross From Ringside", in the magazine:
"The WWF Superstars have not submitted any "official" holiday gift wish
lists but if they did, they might look something like this...
"...Trish: Shane McMahon."
Heh, what does *that* mean? You think Trish has a little crush on Shane-O? I can hardly blame her! ;)
Not only that, there were quite a few pictures from when the WWF
invaded the New York Stock Exchange. Now, I scanned these pictures, but they were very, very, very tiny so it was very hard to get good quality (it's kind of like "Where's Shane-O?"...which, by the way, could be a new section for this website
=P. Check out the Picture Gallery to see these pictures!
December 15, 2000: Thanks to Mary2178@aol.com for letting me know that Molly Holly was on Byte This! recently, and one of the hosts, Jimmy, happened to mention Shane after the Molly interview ended. He had a very, very interesting story to tell about Shane. It was a VERY long story. I listened to this very amusing story, and the basic jist of it is Shane and the web boys got smashed, went bowling, and Shane kicked Jimmy's ass at bowling. If you would like to hear it, click over to http://www.wwf.com/media/2000/12/14/14bytethis?view=.asx (It's around the 47 minute mark). I am going to *try* and get a transcript of it this weekend, so stay tuned if you can't see the Byte This!! :) If you can, go listen to it immediately! It was hilarious!
December 14, 2000: I just strolled into PWTorch.com, and I came across an article by Wade Keller called "My Christmas List", where Keller listed what he wanted to get all the different professional wrestling superstars for Christmas. This is what he had to say about Shane:
To Shane McMahon: A gift certificate to a plastic surgeon and a form to change your legal name, so you can become a full-time pro wrestler without your family name and background preventing you from becoming one of the boys.
I don't think Keller is trying to say Shane is ugly. ;) I think he is trying to say that Shane has a lot of potential as a wrestler, but because of his name, he'll never make it, as strange as that sounds. Basically because he has to live up to that spoiled rich kid persona, you know? And he'll probably never be able to break out of it, because that is what people expect. Have a thought? Post it in the boardroom! If you would like to read the rest of the article, check out: My Christmas Shopping List by Wade Keller
December 12, 2000: So, it seems that we are
*still* Shane-less. <sigh> Again, the rumors have failed us.
Of course, since Armageddon has come and gone, that means that the new rumors
point to a Shane return at Royal Rumble. It seems like we go through this
tirade every month, eh? Well, I am *hoping* that the other rumors I heard
where true which say that Shane will be back BEFORE Royal Rumble, to take part
in the divorce angle between Vince and Linda. Seems like it could make for
some very interesting screw jobs. Example: Shane joins his mother,
but is actually plotting with his father, or better yet, vice versa (not because
I don't like Vinnie Mac, but because it would be cool to see father vs.
son). Hopefully Shane will return really, really soon!
"It (the debut on MTV) took me by surprise when I was
told that it would happen." he said. "I was stunned, and it was simply awesome. I thanked everybody that was here. They had faith in me, and it was incredible. Shane McMahon was one of the guys who said, 'I think
we can put you out there, man.' "
Well, that about sums it up
for this edition of the Latest News. Keep in touch! :)
