Shane McMahon Appointed President, New Media at World Wrestling Federation

STAMFORD, Conn. (ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)- Shane McMahon has been named President, New Media, at Titan Sports, Inc., parent company of the World Wrestling Federation. In his new capacity, McMahon, 28, will be responsible for exploring, developing, and managing the interactive network that reaches World Wrestling Federation fans worldwide.

In reflecting on the new direction of Titan Sports, the dynamic young executive (a fourth generation McMahon to participate in the family-owned and operated marketing and communications company) points out that the sports-entertainment genre represented by the World Wrestling Federation has always been in the forefront of "new media" . "Back in the 1940's and 50's we were a staple of early television programming," notes McMahon. "The first remote telecast of all time was, in fact, a wrestling event!
