Shane McMahon Appointed President, New Media at World Wrestling Federation
STAMFORD, Conn. (ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)- Shane McMahon has been named President, New Media, at Titan Sports, Inc., parent company of the World Wrestling Federation. In his new capacity, McMahon, 28, will be responsible for exploring, developing, and managing the interactive network that reaches World Wrestling Federation fans worldwide.
In reflecting on the new direction of Titan Sports, the dynamic young executive (a fourth generation McMahon to participate in the family-owned and operated marketing and communications company) points out that the sports-entertainment genre represented by the World Wrestling Federation has always been in the forefront of "new media" . "Back in the 1940's and 50's we were a staple of early television programming," notes McMahon. "The first remote telecast of all time was, in fact, a wrestling event! In the 1960's and 70's, our superstars mirrored the national reach of cable television programming on burgeoning cable networks from coast-to-coast. In the 80's, Titan Sports was the pioneer in pay-per-view special event programming," McMahon concludes by predicting, "As we approach the 21st century, you can be certain that the developing global network of innovative media will find Titan Sports and the World Wrestling Federation at the forefront."

Shane earned his BS degree in Communications at Boston University, and immediately joined Titan Sports as a full-time employee in 1994. Prior to, during, and following his college years, Shane McMahon has had the opportunity to work in virtually every department of the Company: from setting up the ring to serving as a referee...from selling television time to on-air announcing!
Shane is married and lives in Greenwich, Connecticut, with wife Marissa. He works in the Stamford, Connecticut headquarters of Titan Sports, but can also be found in the television production studio- on-the- road at World Wrestling Federation live events -and on-the-air hosting of the new Sunday night television show, "WWF Sunday Night Heat" on USA network.
