Associations: Monuments 15, 16, 25, and 27
Condition: Missing head.
Photographs: Present report, Plate 34.
Drawings: None.
Carved Areas: Sculpture in the round.
Material: This monument was found subsequent to Williams' work. However, there is nothing about it to suggest that its material is any different than that of Monument 1.
Dimensions: Height 59 cm, Width 36 cm, Depth 30 cm.
Description: Monument 26 is a kneeling captive with the hands bound behind the back at the elbows. The arms are represented in low, flat relief with no modeling and the fingers are represented by simple incision. The legs project only slightly from the essentially columnar mass of the body. There is a slight bulge at the groin, but other indications of sex or status are absent.
Remarks: This sculpture closely resembles similar bound captive sculptures at the site of Abaj Takalik in Guatemala.
