Location: Monument 4 was discovered by Stirling during the 1938-39 field season "about 10 feet south" of Monument 2, on top of Structure 46?. Monument 4 was moved to the site museum at its dedication in 1975.
Associations: Monument 2.
Condition: Chipped around rim.
Photographs: Present report, Plate 13; Stirling 1943: Plate 10b.
Drawings: None.
References: Stirling 1943; de la Fuente 1973.
Carved Areas: None.
Material: This monument was not tested by Williams. However, there is nothing about it to suggest that its material is any different than that of Monument 1.
Dimensions: Height 85 cm.
Description: Monument 4 is a high cylindrical basin with swelling sides and a severely chipped rim.
Remarks: No evidence of fire was reported by Stirling, but the basins of this monument and Monument 14 suggest a relationship with stone basin incensarios found in Guatemala at Kaminaljuyu and other sites.
