Bad Dream Angel

Bad Dream Angel

Bad Dream Angel

Dark and deep the mysteries
That haunt within her head
Darker still the dreams she has
While lying in her bed

I wait for her to close her eyes
And when her thoughts run deep
I hear the sounds of her distress
As she's crying in her sleep

Her head she turns
Her body shakes
I sit and watch in awe
Unknowing what her torments
And the sadness of it all

I wonder why she cries each night
And why these dreams she keeps
What's happened to this troubled one
That keeps her crying as she sleeps

By day she stares
Her body limp
As if one thing in sight
To be controlled by dreams she has
It happens every night

I dare not ever wake her
In fear she'll see me weep
For the saddest sound I've ever heard
Is her crying in her sleep
