Science Museum
Please remember that an important date
for your diary is Tuesday 28th October when we visit the Science Museum. If
you have not already done so please let me know during the summer break if
you want to book a seat on the coach.
The cost will
be £12 for adults and £6 for children and students.
The coach will be leaving Longhill
School at 9.00 am. Cars can be left in the school car park.
We plan to leave the museum at 4.00 pm.
There are cafes and a restaurant at the
museum but if you wish you can bring a packed lunch. There is a designated
area for picnics.
The trip is open to anyone so if you
have friends who are interested they are welcome to join us. If anyone
wishes to travel with us but would rather visit the other museums in the
area that would be fine.
The main attraction at the Science
Museum particularly for members of the Computer Club will be the Babbage
machine. We shall have the services of the 2 engineers in charge of the
machine, Reg and Richard, to demonstrate and answer any questions.
For any children who come with us I can
assure them that there are plenty of exciting things to do and if the adults
are very good they may be allowed to visit the children's section too!
Meanwhile have a
look at the Science Museum web site.
The Digitopolis exhibition in the
Welcome Wing is very interesting and a lot of fun. We are also allowed to
sneak into the children's area and have fun with their interactive exhibits,
preferably after 3.00 pm! |
