Screenwriting is unique that it can be both a skill that is from the heart and craft that can be learned. As a way to tell share ideals, or tell stories, screenwriting is a wonderful way to express yourself. When I choose an idea to write, I know that I'm in for the long haul but I have always found the final result to be worth the work. |
I have taught at Seattle Central Community College for over five years. As much as it sounds like a cliche, I have learned more from my students than they have ever learned from me. It's amazing to teach and see the "light go on" in someone's head as you explain the 3-act structure, or show them a different way to say something. Someday, I know, one of my students will make it and I'll be very, very, proud.

Q: Do you have representation? A: Yes. James Jordan, an attorney, represents me. He can be reached at (206)622-8484. Q: Have you ever had anything produced? A: No. I have had one script optioned (VEGAS DREAMS, re-wrote as NEON JUNGLE) and I have worked with Rick Stevenson, a Producer/Director on another script (THE SEARCH FOR SANTA). This script was going to be his next project until he got the "greenlight" to produce and direct his own film. Q: How do you handle criticism? A: Criticism is fine as long as I understand where the reader is coming from. As long as the comments and critique are used to make me a better writer, you can tell me my script isn't fit to line a bird cage. The whole point of criticism is to make something better. If I become a better writer, then I am more than willing to take whatever criticism that comes my way. Q: What if someone buys your script and changes your story? A: I realize that, as an unproduced writer I have little - if no - power in what happens to my script once it is bought. And this is a very collaborative industry. I can only hope and pray that the person who chooses to expand, produce and make my script come to life on the screen sees the vision and story as I see it. Once I have a number of films made, maybe then I'll put on the director hat and make the movie as I see fit. Q: What do you hope comes from this Website? A: Well, certainly, I hope that people are interested in my scripts and this Website opens a door to those people. I would, obviously, love to sell a script, or two. Q: What is your ultimate goal? A: To be a full time screenwriter. To sell my scripts, assist in the process of them getting made and enjoy the fruits of my years of late night typing and hours of frustration. Hopefully this Site will open a door, or two, and enable me to get my scripts to more people who will enjoy them.
