My latest little project has just finished it's concept stage. Very often when I'm thinking about what kind of specific details I like on for example Maserati Bora it certainly is the visibility of the mid engine. Well: V12, V8 or just a 1.6S 4-stroke engine, I decided that this concept would also look very well on Murena so I designed the 3 window engine bay cover which is shown on the picures below.

KPower Air filter very well visible. I think that the original filter would not look that nice this way. However the H-shaped rubber strips which I used can do the job, I am still looking for a kind of (black) strip which is even more flexible to be able to create the perfect curve in the round shaped corners of each window. Also a little bit bigger strip would be desirable so the top filt then can be covered also by the strip, which now just isn't possible.

PPpPPlexi-glass (4mm) applied between 3pcs of H-shaped strips. The 3 glasses remain very clean.

My opinion is that 3 windows instead of 1 big one do look much better, especially when keeping in mind the 3 seats in front of them, but most of all this concept is easier to accomplish because I could keep the original structure and therefore the strength of the metal panel intact.

Great, finally owning a garage to hide from the Dutch weather, eventhough Murena is weather resistant.
My opinion of this concept is that it fits the natural sportive looks of the car very well without damaging the original concept of the Murena. I had many positive reactions already, including from the guys at Carjoy's. When I showed my concept to them we were thinking about how a nice Neon light mounted into the engine bay would look like. Perhaps an interesting thought for driving your car during the Christmas time ? ;-)
Wow... check THIS out!!! That is what I call a real engine conversion done by a Dutch guy who lives in the city of Groningen, Holland. Well, who of you could have imagined that such a monster V8 450HP power train would ever fit in a standard Murena 2.2 engine bay? The guys from Corvette who developed this engine for usage in their own sport cars shurely didn't mean this to happen I am affraid. The subframe is almost similar to the one used for the famous Alfa 3 litre V6 engine conversion, which is getting more and more popular every day. Unfortunately this Corvette engine is rather expensive compared to the V6 Alfa . So probably this kind of power conversion remains a dream for most of us forever.

Also for me and well, in case you have not figured it out yet: actually this fast V8 guy = ME who is sometimes a little bit creative with Paint Shop Pro4... Well, I have to think of at least some projects to fill this page don't I ? What I am trying to say here: does except for me and my friend Ruben van Hettema everyone of you own a super standard Murena or ? Because eversince the time I developed this "Project X" page which I meant for making it possible to share nice projects/idea's with each other and to learn from other Murena owners like yourself, I never ever got one single picture or story. Which I truly regret... So come on and:
PLEASE SEND ME YOUR OWN PROJECTS BECAUSE I WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE TO PUBLISH THEM ON MATRA MURENA MANIAC.
In the meanwhile I will be busy to fit a V12 in my own 1.6 engine bay. It all is so easy the digital way;-)). But actually there is one real V12 concept Murena built, see picture below.

Well, isn't this what you all dreamed of? Hey, no more arguements about who has to stay at home whenever you want to visit a cool off the road Murena sports meeting with your whole family because now available: this murrosine extension kit to change your own unique little sportscar in this happy big familycar. Great!!! Order now!!!
Special offer for the real die hard amongst us who rather wants to have a successfull sports meeting, driving and accellerating the car alone and like the way it is designed for but who ofcourse will be accompanied by fellow Murena owners during the meeting:
Dummy Murrosine (no engine mounted). Concept idea was based on the fact that you promise the other passengers who want to go with you that they ofcourse can join the meeting. Then guide them to this dummy telling that you have just modified the car with the murrosine extension kit like described above and as soon as the last person has entered, immediately close and lock the door, walk to your own Murena wich is parked round the corner of the street and go for it!!! Unfortunately this trick only works one time, therefor the dummy Murrosine is available 1 time lease-only. Ask your dealer for the leasing-conditions which suit you best! ;-)

This nice little Mur will join the next space shuttle trip which is planned for take off July 2004. It will be launched at the moon with goal to do some further investigations. Since average cars lack the superb handling of the Murena but a non customized Mur would be stuck at the vulcano-like enviroment immediately, this concept for shure won't. It also has a special design 2way 5speed gear box which enables the car to move as fast backwards like it does forward. This together with the most advanced all door central locking system included could be a rather comfortable thought in case you suddenly are chased by some alien tribes. Good thinking!
PS: To the really "non Paint Shop Pro4 needed" lucky guy who sold his beautiful grey Ferrari-styled back Murena 1.6S and who now owns a real Ferrari 308 GTB: if you are still Murena addict and now read this, could you please still send me some pictures of your custom made engine cooling kit which had replaced the little louvre which standard provides the cooling from the outside to the inside of the engine bay? I think that is actually a very usefull project/invention, really. Or perhaps could the new owner of that Murena provide me these pictures please?
