Jonathan'sToronto RocksHomepage

This is my page dedicated to the Canadian hard rock group Toronto. Part of the reason I decided to create this page is because of the lack of information available on this great Canadian group on the internet. Since I began this page a few years ago, I've heard from many Toronto fans in the United States and Canada as well as from some of the band members themselves! Toronto came out with their first album "Lookin' For Trouble" in 1980 on the label Solid Gold Records, part of A&M Records. Their streetwise hardrock and decidedly Canadian sound was noticed by several of the music biz bigwigs and they were showered with accolades.

In 1981 they followed up with "Head On" and in 1982 they became immensely popular with the album "Get It On Credit" with the single "Your Daddy Don't Know". In an effort to follow up with their blockbuster, they came back with "Girls Night Out" in 1983 which took a different approach than their former albums and suffered on the charts.

In 1984 they released a greatest hits compilation as well as the album "Assault & Flattery". This was to be the last Toronto album.

A Rose By Any Other Name...

Jimmy Fox, Holly Woods and Brian Allen were in a band called Rose in 1977. They released two albums on the Polydor Canada Label.. After recording the third album the band broke up without releasing it. Holly (Annie) Woods does a guest spot on the end of "Johnny Law" on their second album, Judgement Day.Shortly after the album was released, she joined the band.

Thanks to George Smith for this invaluable information.
