-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Twelfth Holy Imam Al-Mehdi, AI-Hujjah(as) the son of the Imam Hassan Al-Askari(as) and Al-Sayyidah Nargis. He is the last of the Holy Infallible Imams of the people on earth and with him the fine of succession to The Holy Prophet(pbuh&hf) now ends.
He is still, by The Will of Allah(swt), living in this world of ours, but does not appear in the public sight.
He will re-appear to all Mankind only by The Command of God(swt) towards the last days of the Human Civilization at a time when the world will become unbearablely full of injustice and imorality.
The Imam(as) will appear and will:
Crush all kinds of Oppression from any quarter Restore God's Law and Order and make Justice once again prevail supreme. The Holy Prophet(pbuh&hf) and the all other Eleven Imams(as) have said that the Imam AI-Mehdi(as) will live until he has full control of the whole wide world, and make Justice prevail and will do away with all kind of tyranny.
He will re-establish the Islamic Religion and make it prevail even though the Paganist and the unbelivers will all dislike and object to his cause violently.
"MAY ALLAH, PERMIT HIM TO LET HIMSELF, BE SEEN AND BE KNOWN BY US! AND TO LET US BE OF HIS HELPERS, IN HIS DIVINE AND SACRED QUEST, TO RID THIS WORLD OF ALL MISERY AND INJUSTICE!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before this great Imam disappeared from the public sight, by the will of Allah(swt), he lived in his father's house in Samarra, The people gather their out of respect to this Imam and it is consider his shrine and place of worship to God.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The promised Imam Al-Mahdi Who is usually mentioned by his title of AI-Imam Al-Asr, The Imam of the "Period" Sahib Al-Zaman, The Lord of the Age His name is the same as that of The Holy Prophet Mohammad Al-Mustafa(pbuh&hf)
He is the son of the Eleventh Holy Imam(as)
He was born in Samarrah in 256/868 and until 260/872 when his father was martyred, lived under his father's care and tutelage. He was hidden from public view and only a few of the elite among the Shia were able to meet him. After the martyrdom of his father he became the Imam(as) and by Divine.Command went into Ghaybat(Occultation) .
Thereafter he appeared only to his Na'ib (deputies) and even then only in exceptional circumstances.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The lmam(as) chose as a special deputy for a time, Uthman Ibin Sa'id Umari, one of the companions of his father and Grandfather(as) who was his confidant and trusted friend. Through his deputy the Imam would answer the demands and questions of the Shia. After Uthman Ibin Sa'id, his son Muhammad Ibin Uthman Umari was appointed the deputy of the Imam(as).
After the death of Muhammad ibn Uthman, Abul Qasim Hussain Ibin Ruh Nawbakht was the special deputy, and after his death Ali Ibin Muhammad Simmari was chosen for this task.
A few days before the death of Ali Ibin Muhammad Simmari in 329/939 an order was issued by the Imam(as) stating that in six days Ali Ibin Muhammad Simmari would die.
Henceforth the special deputation of the Imam(as) would come.to an end and the Ghaybat Al-Kubra (Major Occultation) would begin and would continue until the day God grants permission to the Imam(as) to manifest himself.
The Occultation of the Twelfth Imam(as) This Is divided into two parts The First, the Ghaybat Al-Sughra The Minor Occultation Which began in 260/872 and ended in 329/939, lasting about seventy years
The Second, the Ghaybat Al-Kubra The Major Occultation Which commenced in 329/939 and will continue as long as God wills it. In a hadeeth upon whose authenticity everyone agrees, The Holy Prophet(pbuh&hf) had said,
"If there were to remain in the life of the world but one day, God would prolong that day until He sends in it a man from my community and my Household. His name will be the same as my name.
He will fill the earth with Equity and Justice as it was filled with oppression and tyranny."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the discussion on prophecy and the imamate It was indicated that as a result of the law of general guidance which governs all of creation, man is of necessity endowed with the power of receiving revelation through prophecy, which directs him toward the perfection of the human norm and the well being of the human species. Obviously, if this perfection and happiness were not possible for man, whose life possesses a social aspect, the very fact that he is endowed with this power would be meaningless and futile. But there is no futility in creation.
In other words, ever since he has inhabited the earth, man has had the wish to lead a social life filled with happiness in its true sense and has striven toward this end. If such a wish were not to have an objective existence it would never have been imprinted upon man's inner nature, in the same way that if there were no food there would have been no hunger.
Or if there were to be no water there would be no thirst and if there were to be no reproduction there would have been no sexual attraction between the sexes.
Therefore, by reason of inner necessity and determination, the future will see a day when human society will be replete with justice and when all will live in peace and tranquillity, when human beings will be fully possessed of virtue and perfection.
The establishment of such a condition will occur through human hands but with Divine succor. And the leader of such a society, who will be the savior of man, is called in the language of the hadeeth, the Mahdi.
In different religions that govern the world Such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Zoroastrianism and Islam there are references to a person who will come as the savior of mankind.
These religions have usually given happy tidings of his coming, although there are naturally certain differences in detail that can be discerned when these teachings are compared carefully.
The hadeeth of The Holy Prophet(pbuh&hf) upon which all Muslims agree,
"The Mahdi is of my progeny" This refers to this same truth. There are numerous hadeeths That is cited in Sunni and Shia sources from the Holy Prophet and the Imams concerning the appearance of the Mahdi, such as that he is of the progeny of the Prophet and that his appearance will enable human society to reach true perfection and the full realization of spiritual life. In addition, there are numerous other traditions concerning the fact that the Mahdi is the son of the eleventh Imam, Hasan Al-Askari.
They both agree that after being born and undergoing a long occultation the Mahdi will appear again, filling with justice the world that has been corrupted by injustice -and iniquity.
As an example Ali Ibin Musa Al-Rida(as) the eighth Imam has said, in the course of a hadeeth, "The Imam after me is my son, Muhammad, and after him his son Ali, and after Ali his son, Hasan, and after Hasan his son Hujjat Al-Qa'im, who is awaited during his occultation and obeyed during his manifestation. If there remain from the life of the World but a single day, Allah will extend that day until he becomes manifest, and fill the world with justice in the same way that it had been filled with iniquity.
But when?As for news of the Hour, verily my father told me, having heard it from his father who heard it from his father who heard it from his ancestors who heard it from Ali, that it was asked of the Holy Prophet,
"Oh Prophet of God, when will the Qa'im (Support) who is from thy family appear?"
He said, "His case is like that of the Hour (of the Resurrection)
"He alone will manifest it at its proper time. It is heavy in the heavens and the earth. It cometh not to you save unawares. " Koran, 7, verse: 187 Saqr Ibin Abi Dulaf said, "I heard from Abu Jafar Muhammad Ibin Ali Al-Rida who said, " "The Imam after me is my son, Ali; his command is my command; his word is my word; to obey him is to obey me. The Imam after him is his son, Hasan. His command is the command of his father; his word is the word of his father; to obey him is to obey his father." After these words the Imam remained silent. I said to him, Oh son of the Prophet, who will be the Imam after Hasan,? The Imam cried hard, then said. "Verily after Hasan his son is the awaited Imam who is Al-Qa'im Al-Bil Haqq (He who is supported by the Truth)." Musa Ibin Jafar Baghdadi said, "I heard from the Imam Abu Muhammad Al-Hasan Ibin Ali who said," "I see that after me differences will appear among you concerning the Imam after me. Whoso accepts the Imams after The Prophet of God but denies my son is like the person who accepts all the Prophets but denies the prophethood of Muhammad, the Prophet of God, upon whom be peace and blessing. And whoso denies Muhammad The Prophet of God is like one who has denied all the Prophets of God, for to obey the last of us is like obeying the first and to deny the last of us is like denying the first.
But beware! Verily for my son there is an occultation during which all people will fall into doubt except those whom Allah protects."
The Opponents of Shiasim Protest The opponents of Shiasim protest that according to the beliefs of this school the Hidden Imam should by now be nearly twelve centuries old, whereas this is impossible for any human being. In answer It must be said that the protest is based only on the unlikelihood of such an occurrence, not its impossibility. Of course such a long lifetime or a life of a longer period is unlikely. But those who study the hadeeths of the Holy Prophet and the Imams will see that they refer to this life as one possessing miraculous qualities.
Miracles are certainly not impossible nor can they be negated through scientific arguments. It can never be proved that the causes and agents that are functioning in the world are solely those that we see and know and that other causes which we do not know or whose effects and actions we have not seen nor understood do not exist.
It is in this way possible that in one or several members of mankind there can be operating certain causes and agents which bestow upon them a very long life of a thousand or several thousand years.
Medicine has not even lost hope of discovering a way to achieve very long life spans. In any case such protests from "Peoples of the Book" such as Jews, Christians and Muslims are most strange for they accept the miracles of the Prophets of God according to their own sacred scriptures.
The opponents of Shiasim also protest that, although Shiasim considers the Imam necessary in order to expound the injunctions and verities of religion and to guide the people, the occultation of the Imam is the negation of this very purpose, for an Imam in occultation who cannot be reached by mankind cannot be in any way beneficial or effective.
The opponents say that if God wills to bring forth an Imam to reform mankind He is able to create him at the necessary moment and does not need to create him thousands of years earlier. In answer It must be said that such people have not really understood the meaning of the Imam, for in the discussion on the imamate it became clear that the duty of the Imam is not only the formal explanation of the religious sciences and exoteric guidance of the people. In the same way that he has the duty of guiding men outwardly, the Imam also bears the function of Walayat and the esoteric guidance of men.
It is he who directs man's spirituaI life and orients the inner aspect of human action towards God. Clearly, his physical presence or absence has no effect in this matter.
The Imam watches over men inwardly and is in communion with the soul and spirit of men even if he be hidden from their physical eyes.
His existence is always necessary even if the time has not as yet arrived for his outward appearance and the universal reconstruction that he is to bring about!

T HE A LMIGHTY G OD He is The One and Only Living God ( "Sub'Haa'Nah Wa Ta'A'Lah" ) Following are the 21 Different Names of God: TO FOLLOW THE HOLY KORAN GUIDE AND THE UNLAWFUL OF DISRESPECT OF THE HOLY KORAN The Obligation of Respecting The Holy Koran Al-Kareem It is recommended to:
Memorize Learn Teach The Holy Koran Al-Kareem Ishaq Ibin Ghalib narrates from the 6th holy Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq(as),
"On the Day of Judgement when all the people are brought back to life at one place, a person will appear in such a beautiful form that no one would have ever seen such beauty before. The people will look at him, and, in fact, it will be the holy Koran. They will say that he is from our people but he has the best form that we have ever seen.
This person goes and stands right next to the Divine Throne. Then The Almighty Lord God Allah(swt) will say:
"I swear by My Majesty, Greatness and Highness that I shall honour those who have honoured and respected the holy Koran and will disgrace those who disrespect the holy Koran."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Abu Jarood has narrated from Imam Abu Jafar(as) who has narrated from the holy Prophet Mohammad(pbuh&hf) who had said, "On the day of Judgement, I will be the first to come to the presence of Allah with the holy Koran and my family and then my followers. Then I will ask them about how they treated my Family and the holy Koran."
The holy Prophet Al-Mustafa(pbuh&hf) had also said, "One who reads the holy Koran and then thinks that some one other than him has received a better reward. Such a person has belittled what Allah has made great and has considered great what Allah has belittled."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Talba Ibin Zaid has narrated from the Aba Abdullah(as) who said, "This Koran carries the torch of guidance and fight against the darkness. Those who seek its light, will have their sight brightened and will find their eyes opened in the fight. Thinking is life for the intelligent hearts just as one who finds light to walk in the darkness."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Soma'a has narrated from the 6th holy Imam(as) who has said, "One who reads the holy Koran should pray to Allah for salvation, protection from Hellfire and wish for the best whenever one -would read a verse of the Koran that contains some warning or prayers."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Al-Sakooni has narrated also from the 6th holy Imam(as) who has narrated from his Father and the holy Prophet who said, "When confusion will surround you like a piece of dark night, you must seek guidance of the holy Koran, because its intercession will not be declined and its testimony win be held true. Whoever will take it as their leader it will lead them to Paradise and whoever will push it behind themselves, it will push them to Hell. The holy Koran guides to the best path and it is a book that gives one data clarity and comprehension. It is a criteria of discerning right from wrong and clean of unwanted matters. It has face and hidden meanings.
Its face meanings are laws and its hidden meanings are knowledge. Its apparent meanings are beautiful and its hidden meanings are deep. It has stars up on stars and its marvels are beyond numbers and its wonders never get old.
It is the torch for guidance, beacons of wisdom, direction to the fact and knowledge of it for one who knows of the fact no more than a few of its dues. One, thus, must open his heart in the light and let his eyes see the fact.
The holy Koran saves one from destruction and frees one from entanglement. Thinking is as life to an alert heart just as light is for one who needs fight to walk in the dark. You must seek your salvation in the best form and stop waiting."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maymoon Al-Qassab has narrated from Imam Abu Jafar(as) who has narrated from the holy Prophet who said, "It is astonishing that I do not get old." Ibin Abbass has said that Abu Bakr asked the holy Prophet, "Holy Prophet, what makes you to get old quicker?"
And The holy Prophet replied,
"Surrat 11, 56, 77 and 78 of the holy Koran." The 6th Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq(as) has narrated from Imam Ali Ibin Abe Taleb(as), who replied in a long statement about the pious people: "At night they stand up (for prayer) and read and recite the holy Koran one part after the other. They make their souls to feel sad and reading the holy Koran makes their sad feelings to further increase. They weep for their sins and pains of the cuts in their wounded feelings. Whenever they come across a passage of the holy Koran that speaks of warnings to mankind they open wide the ears of their hearts to them with their hairs standing on end and their hearts frightened and they think that it is the roaring and pounding of the flames of the Hellfire striking against their ears.
Whenever they come across a verses of the holy Koran that speaks of good news and encouragements they incline on them with hope and their souls filled with delight of reaching such goals."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Abu Hamza Al-Thamali has narrated from the 6th Imam who has narrated from the Ameer Al-Mu'mineen who had said, "Should I tell you about the true jurist? He is the one who does not cause despair from the mercy of Allah in the hearts of people, nor neglect of His punishments or loosing all hopes of His kindness. Those who do not allow people to disobey Allah and who does not give up the holy Koran because of some thing else. Know that knowledge without understanding, reciting the holy Koran without thinking about it is of no value.
Know! That to worship without following Sharia is really of no value!"
THE OBLIGATION OF RESPECTING THE HOLY KORAN AND RECOMMENDATIONS ABOUT MEMORIZES, LEARNING AND TEACHING THE HOLY KORAN Al-Sakooni has narrated from sixth Imam(as) who has narrated from The Holy Prophet(pbuh&hf) who said, "The followers of the holy Koran are of the highest ranks among man except the prophets. Do not consider the followers of the holy Koran weak because they are of high ranks in the sight of Allah." Abdullah Ibin Abbass has narrated from The Holy Prophet(pbuh&hf) who said,
"The most honorable among my followers are the upholders of the holy Koran and worshippers at night." Abu Saed Al-Khadari has narrated from The Holy Prophet(pbuh&hf) who said,
"The followers of holy Koran will be of the people with best knowledge of the truth in Paradise." Imam Hassan Al-Askari(as) has said in his commentary of the holy Koran quoting his grand father, the holy prophet,
"The upholders of the holy Koran will have special shares in the mercy of Allah. They have kept themselves in the light of Allah, who have learned the words of Allah and have sought nearness to Allah. Those who love them have loved Allah and those who are hostile to them are hostile to Allah. Allah repels from one who listens to the holy Koran being recited the worldly misfortunes and the misfortunes of the life hereafter and from the one who recites the holy Koran.
I swear by the One in Whose hands is Mohammad's soul that reward for the good deed of listening, with faith, to the holy Koran being recited will be greater than a lot of gold spent for a good cause and the reward for reciting the holy Koran, with faith, will be greater than whatever is between the Throne above and the point below the center of the earth."
Fuzail Ibin Yassar has narrated from the sixth Imam who has said,
"One who memorizes the holy Koran and lives according to its guidance will have equal ranks with the people called, AL-SAFARAH AL-KIRAM AL-BARARAH." Literally meaning the most honorable and virtuous Divine ambassadors. It is narrated from the sixth Imam(as) who said,
"One who tries hard to memorize from the holy Koran and because of weaker memory faces difficulties, such person receives twice as much reward." Minhal Al-Qassab has narrated from the sixth Imam who said, "If a young faithful person reads the holy Koran, the holy Koran gets mixed with his flesh and blood and Allah will include him among the honorable and virtuous Divine ambassadors and on the day of judgement the holy Koran will be his supporter and the holy Koran will say: "Lord, every worker has received the reward for his deeds except my worker. Please, give him the most honorable reward." Allah(swt) will then dress him with two dresses of Paradise and crown him with the crown of honor and then ask the holy Koran, "Did We make you happy and the holy Koran will say: "Lord, I wished for him better than this. Allah will then give peace in his right hand eternity in his left hand and will say to him read from the holy Koran one verse and go up one a degree higher." Then the holy Koran is asked again, "Did We reward him good and make you happy? The holy Koran will say, "Yes!" "If one reads the holy Koran very often and faces difficulties to memorize it due to weaker memory, Allah will give him twice as much rewards."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aban Ibin taghlib has narrated from the sixth Imam who said, "A person who has both the holy Koran and Faith. His case is like citron with nice taste and aroma and the case of those who do not have the holy Koran and faith is like colocynth or bitter cucumber which is bitter and has no good aroma."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fuzail Ibin Yassar has narrated from the sixth Imam who has narrated from the holy prophet who said, "Learn the holy Koran; on the day of judgement it will come to his friends in the form of a most beautiful young person of pale complexion and will speak to his friend saying:" "I am the Koran for which you kept so often awake and endured thirst during the heat of midday, dried up your mouth and let your tears flow, I have good news for you. The man will receive a crown and peace will be placed on his right hand and eternal life in Paradise in his left hand and he will be dressed with two dresses of Paradise and then he will be told, 'READ AND CLIMB!'
For each verse that he will read he will climb up one degree and his parents, if they are of the believers each will receive two dresses of Paradise and they will be told that this is because of your teaching your child the holy Koran."
Asbagh Ibin Nabatah has narrated from Ameer Al-Mu'mineen(as) who said, "Allah, seeing people of the earth knowingly commit sins, decides to punish them all! But when He finds the old people using their feet to go for prayer and the children learning the holy Koran, He, then uses His mercy and postpones the punishments."
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE READERS OF THE HOLY KORAN TO HAVE REVERENCE. WHAT THE READERS OF HOLY KORAN MAY DESERVE FINANCIALLY Umr Ibin Jami has narrated from the sixth holy Imam(as) who narrated from The Holy Prophet Mohammad Al-Mustafa, peace be upon him and his family, who said, "The person who should really be submissive to Allah in public and in private are the upholders of the holy Koran and those who should observe prayer and fasting in public and in private are the upholders of the holy Koran." And then he said loudly, "The upholders of the holy Koran, be humble with the holy Koran, Allah will uplift you and do not be malcontent or else Allah will bring you low." Upholders of the holy Koran
If you did observe proper manners in your relations with the holy Koran, Allah will make it a beauty for you.
Let not such manners will only be superficial to please people because Allah will then disgrace you.
One who completes reading the holy Koran it will be just like incorporating prophethood within himself, but only that Divine revelation does not come to him and one who upholds the holy Koran. By learning it, understanding it and following its guidance
He will not deal with things in the manners of the ignorant people and does not behave with anger and bitterness with things that usually cause anger and bitterness.
Instead he: Forgives Ignores Pardons Endures All for the sake of his total respect shown towards the holy Koran." If one is fortunate to have the holy Koran and thinks someone else has some thing better than what he has, he certainly has revered what Allah has belittled and has belittled what Allah has revered.
"The readers of the holy Koran are of three kinds: There is one who takes the holy Koran as a means of investments to attract the kings and dominate people. There is one who learns the letters of holy Koran but looses its laws and guidance and preserves just its form. May Allah let not the number of such people of the carriers of the holy Koran increase! There is one who reads the holy Koran and holds it to be the medicine for the pains of hisheart. He keeps awake at night and endures thirst in the heat of the midday and stands up with the holy Koran in his mosques and leaves his bed empty at night for prayer with the Holy Koran. Through these people Allah repels misfortunes, changes the enemies and through these people Allah sends down rain from the skies. I swear by Allah that such readers of the holy Koran are more precious than the fountains of eternal life!"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Husain Ibin Yazeed has narrated fron Imam Jafar Al-Sadiq(as) who has narrated it from the holy Prophet(pbuh&hf) who had said: "If one reads the holy Koran and then drinks some thing unlawful Or gets indulged in love of the worldly things, he becomes subject to the wrath of Allah unless he repents and if he dies without any shred of doubt, on the day of judgement he will remain confound for ever."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ismaeel Ibin Abi Ziyad has narrated from Imam Al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, who had said, "If two groups of people in my followers behave properly the whole community of my followers will behave properly and if these two groups are corrupt, the whole community will be corrupted; they are the readers of the holy Koran and the rulers."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Al-Sakooni has narrated from the sixth holy Imam peace be upon him, who has said, "If one through reading the holy Koran would consume peoples properties on the day of judgement he will come with his face without any flesh on it." It is narrated from the holy Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, who had said, "One who learns the holy Koran and does not follow its guidance and instead prefers to love the worldly things and its attractiveness, he becomes subject to the wrath of Allah and he would be of the same rank as Jews and Christians who threw the Book of Allah behind their backs." "One who reads the holy Koran using it as a means for the worldly gains and reputation. He with his face without any flesh on it, will meet Allah on the Day of Judgement. And the holy Koran wil push him into Hell wherein he will fall with all those who will fall therein." "One who reads the holy Koran and does not act according to its guidance. He will be brought back to life on the Day of Judgement unable to see things and he will say:" "Lord, why have you brought me back to life blind while in the world I was seeing things?" Allah(swt) will then reply, "Because Our signs came to you but you forgot all about them and thus, We have forgotten you today and the Angels will be commanded to take him to Hell." "One who reads the holy Koran in order to please Allah and to understand His religion, his share of rewards will be equal to the rewards of all the Angels, the Prophet and the Messengers." "One who reads the holy Koran in order to show off to others and for the sake of worldly fame or to seek some kind of superiority over the people and boast before the scholars and make worldly gains, on the Day of Judgement Allah will scatter his bones and no one's sufferings will be more severe than his and there no suffering will be left with which he will not be punished because of severity of Allah's wrath against him." "One who learns the holy Koran and is humble in knowledge and teaches the servants of Allah. For Allah rewards no one in Paradise will have more rewards then him or of higher ranks and there no rewards or degrees of excellence will be left in Paradise which he will not enjoy." The holy Prophet had said, "In Hell there is a valley and because of the severity of the sufferings therein. The people of Hell cry out for help seventy times every day and that will be the place, for the wine drinkers and those who give up their prayers from my followers."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Abi Al-Ashhab Al-Nakha'i has narrated from Ameeru Al-Mu'mineen Imam Ali Ibin Abe Taleb, Peace be on him who said, "One who accepts Islam voluntarily and reads the holy Koran in its verbal sense, he will deserve a wage of two hundred Dinars per year from the Muslim treasury and if he is denied on the Day of Judgement be will receive, full compensation out of what he would most urgently need."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mohammad Ibin Ali Ibin Hussain(as) has narrated from Aba Abdillah, peace be up on him, who said: "Do not accommodate ladies in special chambers or teach them writing or the chapter of Al-Yusuf from the holy Koran, but teach them spindles and Al-Surrat Al-Nur from the holy Koran."
RECOMMENDATIONS ABOUT READING THE HOLY KORAN FREQUENTLY IN PRAYERS AND IN OTHER CONDITIONS ALL THE TIME Moawiyah Ibin Ummar narrates from Aba Abdillah, peace be upon him, who said about the Will of the holy Prophet to Imam Ali Ibin Abe Taleb(peace be upon them both). "You must read the holy Koran in all circumstances..." Zuhri has asked Imam Zain Al-Abadeen(as),
"Which deed is more virtuous? Imam Zain Al-Abadeen said, "Opening the holy Koran and reading to the end and whenever coming to the beginning of the holy Koran read it all the way to the end." Hafs has said, I heard Imam Musa Ibin Jafar peace be up on them, saying, "The degrees of ranks in Paradise are equal to the number of the verses of holy Koran. One is told to read a verse; and then climb one degree higher and so one would do."
Abdullah Ibin Sulaiman has narrated from Abu Jafar, peace be upon him who has said,
"Whoever reads the holy Koran in his prayer standing, Allah will write for him each for each letter one hundred virtue and fifty for each letter for one who reads from the holy Koran in sitting position. One who reads the holy Koran in a state other then during one's prayer, Allah will write for him ten virtues for each letter."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bashir Ibin Ghalib Al-Asadi has narrated from Imam Hussain(as) who has said, "Whoever reads from the holy Koran in in prayer in a standing position, Allah will write for him one hundred virtue for each letter and if one reads from the holy Koran in the conditions other than during prayer, Allah will write for ten virtues for each letter, and if one listens to when the holy Koran is read, Allah will reward him for each letter one virtue. If one completes reading the holy Koran at night, the Angles will pray for him until morning, and if he completes during the day the Angles will pray for him until night and his prayers will be accepted and this will be better for him than all that is between the heavens and earth."
I said, "This much for the reader of the holy Koran? But what about one who does not read the holy Koran?" Imam Hussain said, "Allah is generous and glorious and kind when ever one would read from the holy Koran Allah will reward him accordingly." Mohammad Ibin Bashir narrates from Ali Ibin Al-Hussain, peace be upon him, and this Hadeeth is narrated from Imam Aba Abdillah peace be upon him, who said, "One who just listens to the holy Koran being read, for every letter Allah will give him the reward for one good deed, deletes one of his bad deeds and raises him one degree higher.
One who reads the holy Koran by looking at it but not in the state of prayer, Allah will write for him the reward for one good deed for each letter, deletes one of his bad deeds and raises him one degree higher.
One who learns one pronounced letter from the holy Koran Allah will write for him the reward for ten good deeds, delete ten of his bad deeds and raise him ten degrees higher."
I do not say for each verse, but I say, for each letter, like that of: Ba, Ta, etc.
"One who reads from the holy Koran in his prayers while sitting Allah will give him the reward of fifty deeds for each letter, and deletes fifty of his bad deeds and raises him fifty degrees higher."
"One who reads from the holy Koran in his prayer while standing, Allah gives him the reward for one hundred good deeds, deletes one hundred of his bad deeds and raises him one hundred degree higher.
One who reads the holy Koran completely, his prayer will be heard sooner or latter." I asked the Imam, "Sir, all of the holy Koran?" He said, "Yes, all of the holy Koran."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ishaq Ibin Ummar has narrated from Aba Abdullah who said, "One who reads one hundred verses of the holy Koran in his prayer during the night, Allah will write for him the reward for worshipping for the whole night.
One whoreads two hundred verses of the holy Koran in a condition other than the state of prayer, Allah will write for him on the protected tablet one Qintar of good deeds and a Qintar is equal to one thousand two hundred Awqiyah and one Awqiyah is bigger than the mountain of Uhud."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anas narrates from the holy Prophet(pbuh&hf) who said, "One who reads one hundred verses of the holy Koran, his name will not be written among the names of the people unconcerned (about faith) One who reads two hundred verses from the holy Koran, his name will be written among the names of those who worship during the night One who reads three hundred verses from the holy Koran, the holy Koran will not protest against him, meaning that one who has memorized that much from the holy Koran, as it is commonly said: The boy has read the holy Koran. meaning, that he has memorized that much!"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Imam Hassan Al-Askar(as)i has narrated from his forefathers who had said, "The Opening chapter of the holy Koran in terms of virtue is better than all the treasuries of the throne. Whoever reads with faith for love of the sacred family of the holy Prophet.
Allah will give him for each letter one good deed's reward and each of such good deed would be better for him than the whole world and all that it contains of all kinds of properties and good things.
One who listens to this chapter being recited he too will receive the same amount of reward as that of the one who just read it, thus, you should read it as much as you could."
It is narrated from the holy Prophet, peace be up on him and his family, who said, "This Koran is the Lifeline of Allah and it is His illuminating Light and useful cure. You must read it! Allah will give you the reward for ten good deeds for each letter that you would read.
However, I do not say that for example 'ALM' is ten, in fact,
'A' is ten 'L' is ten 'M' is ten. It is narrated from the holy Prophet, peace be up on him, who said, "the friend of the holy Koran will be told, "Read from the holy Koran and climb higher and higher and recite by the good tune that you would recite in the world before this; your final destination will be the last verse of the holy Koran that you would recite." The holy Prophet(pbuh&hf) has said, "One reading the holy Koran would be as if he has incorporated the prophethood within himself, except that the Divine revelation will not come to him." Bakr Ibin Abdullah has said that once Umar came to the holy Prophet, peace be up on him and his family and said, "Holy Prophet, you have very strong fever." The holy Prophet, peace be up on him and his family said,
"But it did not stop me last night from reading the holy Koran, of thirty chapters of which seven were of the long chapters." Umar then said, "Holy Prophet, Allah has already forgiven your past and future sins. Yet you still work so very hard!" The holy Prophet said,
"Shouldn't I be a thankful servant?" Yaqoub Al-Ahmar has narrated from Aba Abdillah(as) who said, "Sir, I had learned the holy Koran but now I have forgotten some of it. Would you please, pray for me to Allah to help me learn it again?" The Imam(as) seemed quite shocked and said, "May Allah and all of us help you learn the holy Koran again!" And we were about ten persons, then he added, "If one would know one chapter of the holy Koran and then leaves it alone, On the Day of Judgement that the chapter will come to him in the best form and will greet him and the man will ask: "Who are you?" And the form will say, "I am that chapter of the holy Koran. If you had not left me alone. I would have taken you with me to this high level."
The Imam then said, "You must be very careful about the holy Koran." Abu Basir has narrated from Aba Abdillab(as), who said, "If one forgets a chapter of the holy Koran that he had memorized, on the day of judgement that chapter will come to him in the next form and with rank in Paradise and when the man sees it, he will ask: What are you? How beautiful are you? I wish you belonged to me. The chapter of the holy Koran will then say:
Don't you know me? I am the chapter so and so of the holy Koran and I wish you hadn't forgotten me; For I could have taken you to this high position."
Yaqoub Al-Ahmar said to the the sixth Imam, peace be up on him. "There is a lot of debts on me and I am about to forget the holy Koran." The Imam, peace be up on him, said: "The holy Koran! On the day of Judgement the chapter and the verses of the holy Koran will come and say: If only you had not forgotten me! For I would have taken you today to such and such high level in Paradise."
Yaqoub Al-Ahmar has asked the sixth lmam, peace be upon him, "Sir, I am facing such problems and difficulties that I am forgetting so many good things even some of the holy Koran!" The Imam was shocked and said "If a man forgets a chapter of the holy Koran on the Day of Judgement that chapter will come to him with a certain rank and greets him and the man then asks. Who are you? The chapter of the holy Koran will say. I am that chapter of the holy Koran which you had forgot, and I wish you had not forgotten me; For to-day I could have taken you to such a high level and it will point it out to you that certain higher level."
The Imam then said, "You must be very careful about the holy Koran: Some people only learn the holy Koran so that others would call him a very good reciter of the holy Koran." Some people learn the holy Koran only so that others would praise him for very good tone of a voice of reciting the holy Koran and there is nothing good in all of this. Some people learn the holy Koran and at night, they stand on their feet with the holy Koran as well as during the day and they do not care whether others know of his learning the holy Koran or not!"
